Mrs. Arthur Taylor has received word 'that her mother Mrs. Kydd, who lives in Sunderland is im- proving in health. Mrs. Kydd 1s a former resident of Epsom. 'Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs, M. Sheipers on the birth of a baby daughter, Mary Patricia, born at Toronto General Hospital; and to Mr. and Mrs. Zute on the birth of a son at Uxbridge hospital on Sunday, April 6th. There was no Church Service or S. S. at Epsom United on Sunday, April 6th, due to the condition of the roads. North and West of the Village the road to Highway is good. ' We are pleased to report that Mrs. P. Luke's daughter, Mrs.E. Hooper, has returned home from the hospital and is recovering Lt . nicely from her recent illness. Mrs. Cecil Morrison was in Ep- som last week visiting her mother and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Martin of Maple Grove spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. A. PNAANAN Expert Appointed HOME FURNISHINGS EXPERT APPOINTED Miss Jeanne Armour has been appointed as Home Economist in Home Furnishings, Women's In- stitute Branch and Home Econom- ics Service, Ontario Department of Agriculture. This was announced by Col. the Hon. T. L. Kennedy, Ontario Minister of Agriculture. Miss Armour is well qualified for her new position. A graduate of the University of Toronto in Household - Economics, she did post-graduate work at Columbia University, and the University of Wisconsin. The degree Master of Science in Housing and Related Arts was conferred on her by the latter institution in 1951. . In her new work, Miss Armour will take charge of the Home Fur- nishings section of the Women's Institute Branch. This work will include conducting courses re- quested by the Women's Institute Branches throughout Ontario. Subjects for these courses, already chogen, include "Brighten Your Home with Colour", Room Ar- rangement" and "Treasures In Your Attic".
