Minutes of previous meeting G. Ward. Mr. Bruce McDonald, Uxbridge, in- terviewed the Board regarding Public Liability Insurance, also explained for a further sum of twenty-five cents per pupil, each pupil would be protected for medical and dental care up to fifty dollars per pupil. After some discus- sion the Board endorsed the proposal. A letter was received from the teacher at 8.8. No. 6 stating that grades four to eight were planning a trip to 'Toronto Museum, also Purlin- ment Buildings, Toronto, on May 23; also asking a donation from the Board to help pay expenses. Seeing that S.S. No. 6 had incurred no expense to the Board in regard to school lunches dur- ing the winter, thé Board donated $15 towards the trip. It was brought to the attention of the Board that the school at Prince Albert had been broken into and the teacher's desk broken open and a sum of money belonging to Junior Red Cross taken. The secretary was in- structed to notify the Provincial police. ° Resignations from some of the teachers were received and dealt with in the usual manner. It was decided to discontinue the Book of Knowledge Annual and the Encyclopedia Year Book. Various bills were presented and ordered paid. + + « the letters start. Then many readers of THE CHRIS. F. Down- ing, Beachville, Ont., has establi- shed a new Canadian Record for Lifetime Production for both milk and fit in' the 305 day division with a total of 147,074 lbs. milk containing 5396 lbs. fat, average test. 3.67 percent butterfat. This record is of particular importance because it is the class in which most practical dairymen like to make their records, provding as it does, that the cow will be in milk for ten months and in each lacta- tion will ealve within 400 days of the start of the test. The former Canadian Champion was Popular Row Chieftain Maid, owned by Ross Segsworth, Freeman, Ont. with an eight lactation 305 day lifetime record of 126460 Ibs. milk She is still the Canadian Champion on twice-a- day milking while "Kay" becomes the Unlimited Champion since 3 of her records were made on three times a day milking and the bal- ance on twice-a-day milking. In two of the lactations where "Kay" made 305 dav records she was also continued on test for the full year and her complete lifetime total on Record of Performance test is therefore 150,788 lbs. milk containing 5642 lbs. fat, average test 3.68 percent butterfat. She thus qualifies for a Silver Seal Certificate of Longtime Produe- tion presented by the Holstein- Friesian Association of Canada to | cows that exceed 150,000 Ibs. milk. | "Kay" has amassed this outstand-' ing total despite the fact that she! was not on official test during her first two lactations and the pro- duction from these therefore does not appear in her total. Her best individual record was made as an eleven-year-old when she produced in 305 days on three times a day milking, 775 Ibs. fat from 19182 lbs. milk. Not only is the new champion a top notch producer but she is an outstanding individual from the standpoint of type as well.
