In Memoriam VINE--In loving memory of our dear son, Ralph Kenneth, who passed away, March 8rd, 1953, in his 14th year. When evening shades are falling, And we sit in quiet alone, To our hearts there comes a longing If he only could come home, But we know he lies not cold beneath the grasses; Not close-walled within the tomb, Rather in our Father's mansion "Living"--in another room. Too dearly loved to ever be for- gotten by. Mother and Dad. VINE--In loving memory of our dear brother, Ralph Kenneth. God gave us a wonderful brother, His memory will never grow old; He fashioned the smile out of sunshine, He moulded his heart of pure gold. He needed a new star in Heaven, A beautiful light to shine; So out of this old svorld of sorrow - He chose that dear brother of ours, Sadly missed by Sister and Brothers Eleanor and Reg., Wilfred and Helen, 5 J. DYMOND ADDRESSES ODDFELLOWS Perhaps you are wondering why I have attempted to speak on such a subject as this tonight. We have just begun a new calendar year, a time when one hears and probably talks a good .deal about New Year 'Resolu- tions--so I thought, as I'm sure many others did and have done--if only the great body of human kind could and would resolve to put away Fear --to cease to be dogged constantly by that dark spectre--what a different life we could live. I continue to hope that men who like ourselves, profess to believe in the tenets and fundamental principles of our great Masonic Craft--who profess to believe in the equality and the brotherhood of man, might now re- solve to cast off the shackles of fear and link ourselves to men of good will all over the world; to rend asunder every curtain; be it Iron or Bamboo-- that divides the families of the world --to the end that "Peace in our Time" may cease to be an empty, pious pla- titude, You may ask--"how can we do this --how can we rid ourselves of Fear-- Is there a cure for the disease--can man relieve himself of the consequen- ces, the effects of this scourge?" I can assure you man has tried. Since the year 1914, 46 million people have been killed in warfare, Never before in history has man- killed so many millions of his fellow-men--and he has done it largely to rid himself and the world of 'this disease--Fear! But all this slaughter has not even begun to effect a cure. On the contrary It has brought nothing but increased 'Fear and misery to man and nations. Man has tried more peaceful meas- ures, too. Since 1920 he has brought into being two great world organiza- tions--First the League of Nations-- more recently the UN.O, But I need = not tell you--history and contempor- : (Continued on page 6) &l /~" DOUPE'S STORE Prince Albert WEEK-END SEL MARCH 45 WE DELIVER ORDERS OF $2.00 or OVER GARDEN PATCH WAX BEANS, 15 0z. ....ccoice 2 for' 25¢.
