J. McCombe, near Cut Knife, Northern Saskatche- wan, Inspector McCombe's car be- came trapped in the blizzard and he was overcome by 'carbon® monoxide fumes' while waiting for help. Inspector McCombe was the Com- mending Officer of the North®Battle- ford: division of the R.C.M.P. and was on an inspection tour when the blizs zard overtook him. The McCombe family is well known in this area as Mrs. McCombe i8 the former Marjorie Real and her mother, Mrs. Elgin Real lives in Port Perry. Mrs. McCombe is a niece of the late George McClintock, a former Quaker | Road resident, and she and her sons were visiting here last summer. Inspector McCombe is survived by hig wife and three sons, Danny, a first year student at the University of Tors onto, und Brian and Barry at home. The McCombe family reside at 1462. Queen Street, North Battleford, Sask. The Cedar Creek School Concert was held last Tuesday evening. The school was packed and the pupil put on un excellent concert. + Leonard Greenwood was chairman and he an- nounced the program-which consisted of songs, square dances, dialogues, drills, plays, recitations and a piano solo by Patsy Holtby and one by Joan Wilson. While the pupils were getting ready for some of their acts Mrs. Sandison, the music teacher played for a sing- song of Christmas Carols. . When Santa Claus arrived he led the children in a sing-song and then asked the au- dience to join in, After. Santa had distributed -the pregents--the children were given a treat of ice cream from Mr. and "Mrs. Alfred Kemp of the Ridge View Grill; Apples from Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mosienko and candy from Leonard then asked everyone to give the teacher, Mrs. Beckman, and the music teacher, Mrs, Sandison; a big. hand clap for their wonderful train- ing of the children, We wish to take this oypiily to and all readers of this column a very Merry C Hriastmas and a Happy New Year. er ---- Nn Fidelis Class meeting of the - The Christmas parlors on Tuesday evening, Dec. 6th. Twenty-nine members and nine visit- ors were present. : Christmas music played by Murs. Harper opened the meeting. Miss #| Rayeraft, class S.8. teacher, read a Christmas story. The hymn "Oh, Little Town of Bethlehem" was sung. Miss. Rayeraft led in prayer followed Miss Wesley read the Scripture lesson taken from Isaiah 63rd chapter. Miss Pogue favoured us with a lovely solo. Mrs. Parish gave a reading. The hymn "As With Gladness Men of Old" closed the devotional period. May Blakely, class president, took the chair. Minutes of the November meeting were read and adopted, and voll was called. Treasurer's report was given. Bazaar returns $304.66, with more to come in. The group in charge, A. Dobson, H. and L. Parish, J. Pogue and E. Rahm opened the program with a lively sing song led by Jean Pogue. Various lively games and contests were con- ducted. Sahta arrived with gifts Tor all, .
