C. RICHARDSON, Manager, Uxbridge Area. Blackstock The O.N.O. Club of Blackstock spon- sored a Canada Packers Cooking School last Tuesday and Wednesday, evenings. A capacity audience both' nights proved most acceptable to all the cooking hints and demonstrations so attractively given by Miss "Aili Saving, Home Economist for Canada Packers, She was assisted each night by two girls from the club, Shirley Turner and Jessie Gunter. Oh's 'and Ah's greeted her each night whether she glazed a beautiful Canada Pack- ers Ham or trimed pastry with a palr of scissors, s A note of humour was added by Ted Spencely who acted as M.C. for both nights and certainly helped to make the show the success it was. Between cooking demonstrations Ted drew for many prizes donated to the club from stores in Bowmanville, Port Perry and Blackstock. Mrs. Fransen read the minutes of the last meeting and Miss Des Rosier read the Treasurer's report. Two conveners were elected to plan for the children's Christmas party, The December meeting will be held in the Parish Hall and will be in the form of a pot luck supper for all the mem- bers. The president, Mrs. Bell, closed the meeting with a special prayer for the people of Hungary. The meeting was adjourned. The meeting closed with the Miz- pah benediction after which a de- licious lunch was served by the re- freshment committee. On hehalf of the members, Mrs. Routley extended to Mrs. Ashton a vote of thanks for her kind hospitality. The first meeting of the fall season of the Y.P.U. was held in the base- ment of the church on Sunday Nov. 4 at 8 pm.. The meeting opened with a song service conducted by Grant Parrott.
