(Late for last week) The annual congregational meeting of Burn's Church was held on Thurs- day, Jahuary 17th at 8 pam, The meeting opened with the singing of "How Firm a Foundation" after which, Dr. B. D. Armstrong read Psalms and offered prayer. Dr. Armstrong was appointed chairman for the meeting and Mr, Edgar Heron, secretary, . Mr. Norman Anderson gave the treasurer's report "for the church which showed a very successful year financially. 'The total receipts were $4018.13 and the expenses $3233.27, leaving a balance of $784.86. The budget report was given by Miss Vera Leach showing that a total of $336.00 had been forwarded to the Presbyterian Church in Canada office in Toronto, = The report of the Sunday School was given by the treasurer Mr. Luther Bradley. The total receipts were $391.63, expenses $201.13, leaving a balance of $100.50. The Sunday School had forwarded $324.81 to the Missionary Budget of the church. Mrs. M. Sparks gave the report for the W.M.S. Receipts $272,10, which had been sent to Mrs, Fairbairn, the treasurer of Lindsay Presbytery. The report of the Ladies' Guild was given by Murs. H. Doble. Receipts $047.22, expenses $305.63, leaving a -pbalance of $42.09, The Young People's Society r&port was given by Mr; Hugh Knight showed that they had a very prosperous year. The total receipts amounted to $424.60, expense $362.68, balance $62.02. The Junior Church réport was given by Mrs, FF. Daw showing a total of $34.81. At the Annual Meeting in January, 1956, an organ committee was ap- pointed for the purpose of purchasing a new organ. In May, this committee, assisted by a number of canvassers launched a campaign for raising the necessary funds. Through the com- bined efforts of everyone and many former interested members now liv- ing elsewhere, the required amount was realized, A Wurlitzer electric organ was purchased and a special service of dedication was held on Sun- day July 22nd.
