Karakuls produce lambs twice a year and Mr. Forster raised fourteen lambs last year and will produce, a greater number this year. Their diet is substantially the same as other breeds of sheep, with possibly a little less quantity. They live longer than most varieties, their life span running to fifteen years and more. There are both black and gray breeds, Mr, Forster having the blacks. Up until recently the pelts for Per- sian lambs were obtained from the unborn lambs, but in more recent years it has been found that pelts from lambs two to thrée days old were equally as good. The pelts when the Act, and the cost of the vaccina- tion will be borne by the Province of Ontario. In as much as the services of township inspectors have been dis- pensed with, it becomes the responsi- bility of each cattle owner to make ar- rangements for the vaccination of his calves, and those who fail to carry out this requirement may be charged with an offence under the Act. | In so far as possible every cattle owner will have the privilage of hav- ing his calves vaccinated by a- vet- erinarian of his own choosing. Con- sequently every practitioner has been given an opportunity of participating in the program. In order to quality for remuneration it will be necessary for the veterinarian to enter into an agreement with the Minister of Agri- culture, and each one who signs such agreement will receive a certificate of his appointment. Under the circum- stances cattle owners should make certain that a veterinarian has an agreement with the Minister before rooms, parks, auditoriums and night clubs. Hank is also a yearly feature at the Texas State Fair in Dallas and the Southwest Exposition and Fort Worth Fattsock Show in Fort Worth, Texas.
