Canadiog Films Honours " MONTREAL.--Two medical films sponsored by Pfizer Laboratories of New York and widely acclaimed in Canada have received top awards from the American Film Assembly it has .«&been announced. Distributed to doctors and medical groups in this country for viewing by Pfizer, Montreal, the two films, "Dynamics of the Tubercle" and Stress and the Adaptation Syndrome", won the Golden and Silver Recls for placing first and second respectivély in the Medical Sciences Category. The 'Stress' film was produced in collaboration with Hans Selve, M.D., of the Institute of Experimental Med- icine and Surgery, University of Montreal, and was premiered in Mon- treal last fall. A third Pfizer film honoured by the A.F.A. was "Proud Years". To be re- leased shortly for Canadian viewing, the film was awarded the Silver Reel in the Healtk and Hygiene Category. Tickets $3.00 available from Committee men, Greenbank The April meeting of the~W.A, was held in the basement of the Church on Tuesday. A hymn was sung followed Mrs, H. McMillan read the topic card on Self Sacrifice, followed by the 23rd Psalm in unison. Scripture lesson was taken by Mrs, H. McMillan. Mrs. Leask gave the lesson thoughts and prayer. The Topic was given by Mrs. Stan Foster. A hymn was then sung. Secretary' s report was read and approved, Treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Chapin gave a splen- did talk on Christian Citizenship. Mrs. Smith, thanked Mr. Chapin for making the bulletin bthrd. ' A committee of Mrs. Rath Foster and Mrs, H. McMillan was chosen to fix the Altar Chairs and sand the two extra chair seats for varnishing. Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Baird and Mrs. R Foster offered to fix the choir gowns for the Junior Choir. Moved by Mrs. Ianson, seconded by Mrs. Cooperthwaite that Mrs. Wardy Mus. Pearson, Mrs. McMillan and Mr. Chapin to see about purchasing a Communion Table. Moved by Ruby Beare, seconded by Ruth Foster that Mrs, Baird and Mrs. Cooperthwaite be responsible for get- ting an altar cloth with the I.H.S. Crest on it. Everyone was reminded to try to attend the W.A. Convention at Sunderland on May 17th. Meeting closed with Mizpah Benediction. A delicious lunch was served to 24 by group in charge. Mr. and Mrs, Gordon Hood, of Ajax, were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Hoyard McMillan, Mr. Roddy Foster left Sunday after- noon for Flint, Michigan, where he will attend classes concerning his work with General Motors, for two weeks. ~ Mr. Gordon Pilkey, of Burlington, and Mrs. Chas. Pilkey, of Brooklin,, visited Mr. and Mrs, Ernest Lee on Sunday. Last Wednesday evening the Field Day Committee met at the home of Mr. Roddy Foster and it was decided to hold the Annual Sports Day June 16th. There will be ball games and races in the afternoon and a dance in the hall at night. We are happy to see Mr. Ry. Beare home from the hospital. Mr, and Mrs. Laverne Beare of Buffalo, spent the week-end with his parents. Miss Myrtle Blakely spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Blakely. Mother's Day services were well at- tended on Sunday with nine babies baptised.
