It was decided to complete our payment to the Parsonage Fund at this time, Following the business of the meeting, Reta Redman and Mrs, Ashton sang a lovely duet "Jesus is all the World to Me", We then enjoyed a few min- utes of community singing with Ethel Redman at the piano. Betty tested our knowledge of the Bible with her contest, then Evelyn led in a contest concerning a most unfortunate auto- mobile, which: was won by Joyce Heayn. The meeting closed with lunch ser ved by Mabel Graham's group. Mr. and Mrs. Crouse, Mr. and Mrs, Travell, and Mr. and Mrs, S. Rodman spent 'last week end at the summer cottage of Mr. and Mrs. W. May at Lake Barnard near Sundridge. 'Mr. and Mrs. H, Barry were in Hal- liburton last Sunday, when Mr. Cooper returned to his home after spending some weeks with us. ' Mr. and Mrs. M. Williams of Sus- ex, N.B., and daughter Mary Jean, were guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. L. Martyn. Don't forget the women's servigs next Sunday at Grace Church. The service should be a very interesting one, The Penny Draw for the Hospital Auxiliary will be held on Saturday af- ternoon at three o'clock at the Theatre Corner in Port Perry. School is once more in full swing, and we wish to convey to the teachers and pupils our hopes for a most suc- cessful new term. Mrs. Beckett is the Head teacher, Mrs. Hunter is a- gain with us at the Centre and Mrs. McKenzie of Columbus is the new teacher at the Foot School. We wel- come Mrs, Mckenzie to the community, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Redman have returned from a trip to North Bay and Ottawa. There will not be a Sunday School service at the Head Church next Sun- day, in order that'as many as possible may attend the Church Service at the Grace Church. The church service is at 11.16 a.m, Prince Albert Dr. S. L. Osborne, of Whitby Ladies College, occupied the pulpit at Sunday morning service and delivered an in- spiring message. Next Sunday we shall also look for- ward to hearing Mr. R. B, Smallman. * A number from our midst enjoyed attending the pretty Griffin-Hunter wedding in Port Perry United Church on Saturday. The best of days are extended to Barbara and Jack. It is disappointing to learn that Mr, and Mrs, E. Williams, Craig and Shar- on have moved from our locality. Mr. Spaciel's sale of household ar- ticles was fairly well attended con- sidering the other activities that day. Mr. and Mrs. Graydon Beacock of Galt, and Mr. and,_Mrs. Ray Kirby, Oshawa, with the Les. Beacocks. 'Mrs. Jonah Smith accompanied her son and wife Mr. and Mrs, Ben Smith along with friends Mr. and Mrs, Par- ker to New York State for a few days. All the puipls are behind their desks and teachers into daily routine. Our two teachers are back on our staff; Mrs. Hodgins and Mr. Rzadkouski. Also Mrs. E, :Martyn at Honeydale, Miss S. Vance at" Scarboro, and Miss G. Hodgins at Milton have all re- sumed teaching duties. Mr. and Mys. Doyle and family and Mr. A. Bond enjoyed a trip viewing the St. Lawrence Seaway. Mrs. L. Honeygar (the.former Jean Patterson) of Philadelphia U.S.A, vi- sited a few days with her aunt Mrs, Groupe, after having been present at the funeral of her grandmother, Mrs. J. McCulloch, in Toronto.
