Claims have also been made that parts for these -foreign made items are inter- changeable with parts of higher qua- lity Canadian-made goods. Unfortunately, after making pur- chases, the buyers have found these claims false .and have found themsel- ves with faulty equipment which would be expensive at any price. Some of the "gimmicks" used hy these smooth operators are the use of gift certificates for the purpose of obtaining names, copying names of well-known brands on poor quality goods, obscuring the manufacturers' name 80 the buyer does not know who actually manufactured the goods, as well as the usual high pressure sales talks. Frequently operators of this type move into an area en masse, clean up quickly and clear out of the territory before complaints start. Most salesmen = undoubtedly are there were ten tables of euchre play- ed. Winners were as follows: Ladies 1st--Mrs. W. Rogers; Second--Mrs. J.
