GREER & KELLY, Barristers, Ete., Port Perry, Ontario, Solicitors for the Executor. } mar District Churches S8CUGOG, MANCHESTER and PROSPECT UNITED CHURCHES Well! the stormy weather has come, and we have had so much good weath- er, that" we should not complain, Sun- day demonstrated that if we desire to attended church, we do so in spite of the weather. The congregation on the Island was exceptionally good in the morning, and there were quite a few faces we hadn't scen for some time, which is all to the good. What a day it will be when all of Canada becomes Church-minded! In his sermon on Sunday, the Minister said that Jesus didn't just "happen" to find Himself early in the morning in a solitary place, praying. He placed it on His agenda for the day, and deliberately went there, The Choir, sang "The Light of the World is Jesus." In spite of the wind and snow; many came in frofif the Country to Manchester and Prospect. We'do regret that there has been so much sickness in Prospect, 'and hope that the cold spell will kill the germs. We were not able to have our evening service; but hope to do so this coming Sunday evening at the Head Memorial Church, provided that the weather is suitable. The Moving Pictures we"secured were "Forward with Christ" and "Life on the Figi Is- land." We would like to have the Jr. Choir sing for us, This promises to be another busy week, The Cubs will meet this even- ing at Manchester if the weather is not too stormy, and Prospect is sche- dules to go bowling. Let us hope that the wind eases up, and the plow gets around. The Scugog Choir will meet on ~Thursday. evening, and all the Elders will meet on Friday evening. in the Manchester Church at 8.830 p.m. The mothers of our Cubs are asked to meet with the Group Committee on Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Witherspoon at 8,00 p.m. The members of the Parsonage Com- mittee are called to meet on Monday evening, February 24 at the Parson- age at 8.30 p.m.- Wonderful progress was: made. last year; and with plan- ning, our parsonage can be put in good shape, It was a well planned home, and-is most conveniently laid out. Then on Tuesday, February 26 our Young People will go bowling. We had a very fine meeting last week Wednesday when Mr. Roy Cornish, of Port Perry came and showed some Py ucational movinng picture films. The evening was rather stormy, and our attendance not quite up to pat. The pictures showed plans for effective studying, and also suggestions for the getting of that coveted first position in the business world. We invite all our Young People to be with us on Sunday evening. : . And then on Wednesday evening at the parsonage, all the Sunday School teachers and officers of Scugog Grace Sunday School are invited to meet with the Minister at 8.30 p.m. Please keep in mind Friday, February 28th, when Scugog Head W.A. will have a pleasant evening in the Church and show pictures. Lunch will be served after. Many happy returns to Mr. Thomas Redman, who celebrates his 82nd birthday on Sunday. Our love and prayers go out to all who are not well, and we hope that you all are able to keep warm these days. Come and worship with us on Sunday, and let us feel that you are one with us, AUCTION SALES SAT, FEB, 22 -- Action Sale of Modern and Antique Furniture, the property of Miss E. M.
