'Anyway we all en- joyed letting off steam even though most of us cannot sing, - , In attendance at the head table was x ot a_ representative from Scout head- quarters. -- Field Commissioner Jack Atkinson to present to Cub Master - Gordon Goode his long service medal. Mr, Stanley Ploughman accepted for Mr, G. Goode in absentia, Mr. Atkin- son then called again on District Cub Master Stanley Ploughtman and to him he 'presented the Scout Medal of Merit. This was given to Mr. Plough- man through the patronage of Can- ada's Chief Scout the Honourable Vincent Massey. For anyone to re- ceive 'this award is a great honour indeed and we in Port Perry should feel Justly proud, of our "Stan." Ploughman. GORDON FLEWELL two years, Martha Johns, beloved wife of Gordon A. Flewell, passed away 'lon Feb. 8th, 1958 at the Community Memorial Hospital, Port Perry. Born on a'farm in Emily Township, Victoria County, she was the eldest daughter of the late James and Mrs. Johns. Her early schooling was In Veraleum Township, then later at Manchester when her parents moved to Reach Township. In 1923 she mar- ried Gordon Flewell and they resided for a few years in Reach Township -| before moving to the home on Scugog Island. She was a member of the United Church there. Left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother-.are her husband Gordon, son Douglas and daughter Isobel of Scugog, also two sister Jes- sie and Margaret and one brother, Alex. Teen Town The happy group of teenagers at last Friday's dance was comprised of about thirty-five couples from 'both Port Perry & Uxbridge Teen Town's. The chaperones for the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ptomely and the dance was convened by Louise Bou- langer. The: dance this Friday evening in the Public School will be a costume dance.
