The linen supply at any hospital is always a big item and ours is no ex- ception, despite the inestimable assi- tance of the women who do the mend- ing,. This month we bought babies' shirts, dish-cloths, and.a new type of plasticized pillow cover and mattress cover. These plasticized articles were quite expensivebut of course: it will not be necessary to use them for every patient. : ; The Fifth Annual Doll Festival is our next money-making project, and in the near future we'll havé a fine display of dolls in the window of Messrs, Greer and Kelly, Queen St, Port Perry. Mrs. Roy Cornish and Mrs. Wm. Chapman will be in charge of the dolls, and Mys, Stewart [Rod- iman and Mrs. Lavern Martyn will convene the sale of tickets, which will be available shortly at three tickets for twenty-five cents. These , tickets may be obtained from almost any member of the Auxiliary, Miss Sadie Hortop, (where the dolls are displayed), or we would suggest that "you contact the auxiliary represen- | tative of any organization to which place on Saturday afternoon, Decem- ber 13th. Heretofore the annual meeting of the Auxiliary has taken place in the Public Library in the evening, but this year we are holding it at 2.30 o'clock in the afternoon, November 17 in the library. The first sessions on Friday even- ing were devoted to ministerial train- ing of the delegation. A baptismal service was held on Saturday and 17 persons were bap- tised. In the evening, by means of discussion and demonstration the im- portance of serving the people's spir- itual needs by means of home Bible study was stressed. Leeman Nixon, presiding minister for Port Perry, de- monstrated how regular home Bible study is essential to ones spiritual growth. The public lecture given on Sunday afternoon by Victor White, district supervisor, "The Watch Tower So- ciety in God's Purpose" was heard. Mr. White briefly recounted the his- tory of the Watch Tower Society, showing that from its inception in 1872 it has been devoted to Bible re- search, and through its ministerial activities hundreds of thousands of persons in all walks of life have come to know the divine will of the Creator. "In His great prophecy about the end of this wicked old world", Mr. White stated, "Jesus indicated that God would have a channel of com- munication at this time of the end, which He would use to sound a warn- ing. The question arises, who?" And after quoting the Holy Scriptures at Matthéw 24:45 to 47, Mr. White point- ed out that the Watch Tower Society is identified with this "faithful and discreet slave" who is abundantly feeding '"his domestics" with spiritual food at this time. This circuit convention followed hard on the heels of the Divine Will kee Stadium and the Polo Grounds this summer, which was attended by a quarter of a million pérsons. UXBRIDGE, ONT. Thurs. - Sat.
