As for the committees there is con- siderable left over from previous meetings that has to be dealt with, as well as the Shooting committee, and the casting. The Delegates to the Ontario Federation report there is much to be talked over from that meeting of Jan. 12th. The delegate from the Club Ott. Hamilton niade the trip to Orange- ville, the host for the meeting the Duf- ferin Peel Anglers and Hunters As- sociation, there was a large turnout and much business done. The day was not the most delightful day as far as the weather was concerned, roads for driving were in good shape, no snow to bother us, and a most _de- lightful day otherwise. The Club there have the best set up of any of the Clubs that I have at- tended, they have a skeet range as 'well as a rifle range, along with a 125 acre track of land. The Club house is about 1% miles north from Orangeville and about %4 mile west. There is a very beautiful view of the hills and dales, and in the fall would make a very beautiful part of the country for picture lovers when the leaves are all out in colour. They are to be hosts for the Federation annual meeting. I intend to'have my camera | along with me. Menzies, Fepelon Falls Dog Catcher Asks $9,600 Salary Whitby Twp. council learned last night that hiring a dog catcher may be an expensive proposition. At a meeting in council, only one written application was received, the appli- cant asking an annual salary of $9,600. ¢ 3 The application came from Russell Weatherall, of Cresser Ave., Home- land subdivision. He explained to council later that he expected the job would be so great that he would have to hire an assistant and also retain a bookkeeper to keep proper records. According to his application, he would |- supply all dog catching: equipment, including a kennel to keep 12 dogs. Last week, Weatherall"s dog was attacked by a fox while it was chain. ed in his yard, Deputy-reeve Heber Down said that he was a little taken aback by the size of the salary requested, -- "If any person calls up to have a dog destroyed and finds out we, are paying more than $9,000 to have it ¢ done", he said, "they will destroy the dog themselves". .
