The Worthy Matron, Marion Sandison, presided over the Chapter and the opening cere- monies were carried out in regular form. It was pleasing to report that nine past matrons and one past patron of Blue Ray Chapter were welcomed to the East. This being Conductress and Associate Conductress night, Blue Ray Chapter Conductress, Jessie Sla- ter had the honour of welcoming her guests. Not as many guests from out of town were present as anticipated; but, the weather and travelling con- ditions were extreme; and those who did brave the elements were given a warm and sincere welcome. Three of- ficers were absent and their positions were ably filled by Ethel Nottingham, Past Matron; Jessie Espie, Past Mat- ron and Doreen Butson. Several interesting reports were received. Jessie Espie, P.M. present- ed her findings regarding the drapes to be procured for the new Masonic Temple. Helen Colbear, P.M. report- ed on the prices of new dishes to be procured and these reports were un- animously accepted and committees appointed to purchase same. The Sick and Sunshine Convenors reported that several of the members were on the sick list and thank you notes were read and the sympathy of the entire Chapter was extended to Brother George and Sister Vivian Lane in the loss of their beloved son. Other reports were heard from the various committees; Benevolent re- garding a draw; Refreshment; Trans- portation and Hospital conveners. Numerous invitations were received among which were Oriole; Markham; Sunbeam; Starlight; Lindsay and Coronation Chapters. CRISP and Crunchy _ || After the meeting was closed in the usual manner, a versatile program was presented by the Entertainment committee under the supervision of the conyenor, Jessie Slater. Those taking part were Ralph Cawker, John Croxall, Neil Palmer and Danny Ree- gor.
