Shakleton, all of Salem W.A, and a this quartette were Mrs. L. W, Van- Drie, Mrs. O. Richmand, Mrs, D. Al- dred and Mrs, Stewart James. The members of the Tyrone W.A. served luncheon in the Community Hall at which time greetings were brought from the W.M.S. Presbyterial by its president, Mrs. M. C. Fisher of Newcastle. Rev, Mervin Bury, pre- sident of Oshawa Presbytery spoke briefly, and Mrs. W. C. Ives brought greetings from the Bay of Quinte Conference W.A. Before Mrs, Cornish retired from office she gave the president's report, telling of the many duties she had performed on behalf of the member- ship, and also gave a special welcome to four members of the newly formed Westminster United Church Women's Group. When Mra. Richardson took the chair after the installation of the new officers she asked for the same fine co-operation which had been given Mrs. Cornish. There were Twenty-five present in all. : The secretary read the minutes' of the March nieeting 'and an error in connection with the Milk Producers was corrected. A report was given on the Poultry Meeting held in Uxbridge, Details of the Dairy Princess Con- test were outlined. The deadline for entries is May 1st. Any girl between the ages of 17 and 26, single or mar- ried is requested to file her applica- tion with the Ag. Rep's Office in Ux- bridge. The girls will be coached by Howard Hooper. Upon completion of the business part of the meeting, Mr. Don Brown recently appointed Zone Chairman for Poultry Producers, the post held until recently by George Scott, Oshawa, spoke on the Poultry meeting held in Toronto which 200 Poultrymen attended. Mr. Brown stated that it was the general opinjon that contract farming was 'unavoid- able. Integration in the egg industry has already taken place in the United Btates with 80 to 40% of the eggs produced in this way. These figures are expected to climb to 70% within the next year. The Poultry commit- tee will be studying a plan to-form a bargaining committee to protect their interests. A membership fee of $1.00 will be charged. Mr. Brown stated that a large membership was urgently needed in order to give weight to their voice in Ottawa. This brought up the subject of Reyal Com- mission's report on price spreads. Further discussion and study will be done on this with a view of Drafting events, a Silane Dance Competition will be held on the evening of the Field Day.
