Letter from Mr. C, E, Crease Consumer Service Engineer of Ont. Hydro at Barrie, re adequate wiring: "It is indeed encouraging to note that your Hydro Committee have seen fit to subside those customers who change from 2-wire, 20-ampere, 120-volt ser- vice to the 3-wire, 60 or 100 ampere, 240/120 volt service. « "An adequate wiring installation in the home permits the householder to use the electrical appliances which he owns in a manner which is completely safe, convenient and economical. The installation of 100 ampere 8-wire ser- vice entrance equipment plus an ade- quate branch circuit panel (with pro- vision for a range or dryer cable) as- sures the householder of being able to add to the number of clectrical ser- vants he may wish to use without question the ability of his distribution system to safely handle the additional load and without extra expense for wiring changes. "A 30-ampere, 2 wire system is limited to approximately 8600 watts of connected load, and with the cur- rent trend to increase wattages of household appliances, and when we consider that a rangette is 1500 watts, 10--10' Galvanized U-Flange sign Posts order the signs from Rosco Metal. Letter to the Editor: In your May 14th issue you have brought up a very interesting fact concerning drinking among youth. I agree wholeheartedly in your editorial "Notes and Comments" that it is the adult who is to blame, For sure the young people have their ideals in those adults around them especially their parents and in case these are not as they like young men look for other ideals. They find them in pictures, T.V. and books. These ideals often drink, too, but their behaviour otherwise is outstand- ing in valor, strength, and adventure and many other abilities. That is what youth is looking for. It does not see the misleading of bad habits of their ideals. To eliminate the drinking habit is to ban elaborate drink ads, they lead many young people into bondage. Young folks must be told of the de- terioration of body and mind by al- coholic drinking. Many experts know that top sports cannot be performed after use of sometimes just a bit of alcohol. It is not the moral side alone that is at stake but the life of a na- tion in its youth.
