News The goodly turnout at our June 8th meeting were treated to a very special evening even though the night was very hot and humid, | This meeting marked a highlight of our current session being the night when our veteran members 'took over", These veteran members showed that their interest and loyalty to the lodge was still great by putting on the initiatory degree in a very| able manner. . Our veteran' members showed fur- ther evidence of their loyalty and generosity in presenting to the lodge new officers collars. . This admirable gesture is certainly appreciated by the junior members and the thanks of the entire lodge are inorder. The successful meeting was cli- maxed by a dinner of barbequed chicken. Sunday, June 14th was the occa- sion of our annual church parade. This year it was held at the Seagrave United Church with a very favorable turnout. The new collars certainly added color to this occasion. The members are reminded that on June 22nd will be the last meeting before recess for the summer. Be out to enjoy the ice cream and straw- berries. We should also like to remind the members of our annual picinic. Date to be announced at our next meeting. (Tentative date--Thurs., July 23rd). Have you noticed in the daily news- papers the short columns referring to Oddfellows activities and practices? You will find them interesting, ' All' members are urged to attend our next and last meeting before the summer recess, at which time a report of the Grand Lodge sessions will be given by our representative Bro. C. Butson. All in all we have had a successful year to be be renewed we hope in the fall. Greenbank Fidelis Class The regular monthly meeting of the Greenbank Fidelis Class was held on Wednesday evening, June 8, at the home of Jean Hunter. The devotion- al part of the meeting was opened by Grace Hunter. Hymn 861 'He liveth long who liveth well" was sung fol- lowed with prayer by Catherine Brown. Doris Bacon read a piece called "the gift and the giver". Nor- ene Blair took the scripture reading and Mary Jean Till read the story. Hymn $13 "Jesus Bids us Shine" was sung closing this part of the meeting. The president took over the meet- ing and twenty-seven members an- swered the roll call. A P.A, system wag discussed for the church, and to help out with the purchase of this, it was decided to have a bake sale, June 12th, and the three holiday week ends July 1st, Aug. 1st and Labour Day week-end. Commission as a call to worship and announced the missionary hymn, Christ for the World. Elsie Challis read the Scripture from Christ's intercessory prayer as found in St. John 17. Kay Pickard then led in prayer. Hazel read a de- votional comment on the Scripture passage, The singing of the hymn, "In Christ there is No East or West" closed the worship service, A film strip called, "We are all in the same Boat", was shown with Mrs, Edgar Leask reading comments on the pictures. This film proved both edu. cational and interesting to all. Hazel Crawford, Elsie Challis, and Kay Pickard served a tasty lunch to close the meeting. Thelma Beare thanked Mrs. Leask for her help with the film, Mrs. Litt for the use of her en home, Joan. Godley 'and Elsie Challis for their help in repairing the electri cal equipment. Thanks is also due to Mrs. M. Hoggard for the use of her screen for the evening. W.M.S. The June meeting of the Afternoon Auxiliary 'was held Tuesday, the 9th in the church basement.
