Anglican-Nofes By Mary Becker The Women's Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Novem- ber 10th in the 'Parish Hall. The minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs, Whitby, and Mrs. Clarke gave the treasurer's report. The president, Mrs. Woods, asked the group if they would make 'candy for the G. A. table at the bazaar. This meeting was a baby shower for the W.A. bale, and many lovely gifts were brought. Mrs. Hayes, reported on the meeting she and Mrs. Fuller attended recently at the Diocesan Centre in Toronto, where they saw a' demonstration of how a Little Helpers' Party should be run. Then Mrs. Fuller gave an ac- count of the monthly W.A. Board meeting which she had attended last week. After a corporate Communion in the Cathedral, members heard speakers urge local groups to help with the world refugee problem. To mark the 756th year of the W.A,, stamps will be available from the W.A. office, for correspondence. Mrs. Full- er then showed slides on "The Way in Africa" 'and gave a talk about them. During the teachers' meeting, held at the home of Mrs. Dowson, on Thurs- day, Nov. 12, a committee was set up to plan the children's Christmas ser- vice, to be held December 13th in the afternoon. This committee consists of Mrs. Dowson, Mrs. Becker and Miss Clarke. The group also discussed the ordering of supplies and duplex en- velopes for next term, and heard Mr. Fuller give an interesting account of how the Indiana Plan, which he has recently "conducted in Oshawa, might be worked here. ' 10 Oakville Juveniles Face Smoking Charges children under the age of 16 permis- sion to smoke may be charged with contributing to juvenile delinquency, police said here today. Oakville Police Inspector Edward Heath said that Trafalgar Township and Burlington police departments will follow the action of local police who Saturday charged 10 Oakville juve- niles with violations of the Tobacco Restraint Act, a Federal law. Eight and two boys were'charged and will appear before Magistrate Landon. No date was set. Not only are juveniles liable for a fine, but persons of businesses that supply tobacco to juveniles are subject to a fine of $10 for the first offense, $26 for the second and $100 for furth- er violations. Juveniles receive a re- primand for the first offense, $1 fine for the second and a $4 fine for furth- er convictions, Waitresses in local restaurants now ask all young persons who are smok- ing for proof of their age.
