Head and Centre tying for the attendance ban- ner, Three new members were wel- comed. Extensive plans and problems re- garding the Joint School Concert at the Centre on November 21 were worked out satisfactorily. We were reminded of the Home and School Bowling night during vacation on either 29th and 80th. Mrs, Don Gerrow gave us a period of relaxation with an original Christ- mas Contest which tested our mem- ories and found all lacking in perfec- tion. ~ Lunch was served by January's pro- gram committee. At the Foot School Mrs. K. Crozier, Mrs. B. Loates and Mrs. Demara will be responsible for luneh, The Christmas meeting of the Head W.A. seems to have a special fascina- tion as was proved by an attendance of 23 at the home of Mrs. Jack Manns on the evening of December 2, On account of the joint concert at the Centre we have planned a Christ- mas party at the Head Church for the previous Saturday night. A program will be planned by the committee which will include a place for distribu- tion of the Sunday School gifts and awards. The party will close with lunch. We are pleased to honour two well known couples who will both celebrate their Golden Weddings on Dee. 16th: Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Hance are still with us; Mr. and Mrs, Russell Carter moved to Port Perry, but frequently return to our midst. We cannot for- get such good citizens. Mrs. Orval Heayn read a very en- lightening story the Christmas cust- oms of Korea, stressing the religious celebration rather than commercial. Mrs. L. Martyn, Mrs, C. Redman and Mrs. J. Dowson will form a nomi- nating committee to suggest a new slate of officers for 1960, Several members including Mrs. Barry brought in money from the sale af additional bazaar articles. The total returns are.now $169.63, The exchange of gifts 'was handled in an | interesting scheme of musical stops. Many gifts necessarily exceeded the 26¢ limit. The gifts for the tearoom were handled in the same way and made a display of interest and thought by the donors. We thank you all, 4 A very agreeable lunch was served Hilltop Herald Hi Folks: Here we are again with the Christ- mas Exams in the most pleasant posi- tion--behind us! The school activities are just begin- ning so there isn't very much to report this week. r The girls grabbed their fellows for the "Sadie Hawkin's Dance" which was held Friday, November 27th at the high school. The dance was very successful and everyone had a tre- mendous evening, The Junior -and Senior Girls have been practising after school for the Basketball teams, Both teams will be chosen Wednesday after school and the list of players will appear in next week's paper. : The boy curlers played their weekly game on Monday afternoon.
