This as- 'sembly is expected to attract 25,000 , delegates from Canada and U.S, . In preparation for this assembly, many local Witnesses had a share. in the great campaign to obtain suffi. cient rooming accommodation for. all delegates. Saturdays and Sundays, as well as other times through the week, saw many of them making the trip to Toronto share in this work with hundreds of Toronto Witnesses, "and altogether 3,825 rooms in hotels and motels and-8,444 in private homes were obtained, with 16,187 hours be- ing expended, A staff of 52 full- time volunteers has been required to process the accommodations and as-- sign them to delegates. Mr. Nixon said, "Contributing pri- marily to the success of our solicita- tion. was the response of hosts and hostesses to the 1957 convention dele- gates".
