8---THE PORT PERRY STAR, THURSDAY, JULY 21st, 1960 Ontario Cou District Field Day Winners The Ontario County Junior Farmers won the Quinte District Junior Farm- ers Annual Field Day Trophy and the Provincial Junior Farmer's Associa- tion Quinte Track & Field Champions' Trophy at Peterborough, on Baturday, July 16th, 1960. The Field Day is an annual inter- county sports competition for the counties of Durham, Victoria, Peter- borough, Northumberland, Prince Ed- wards, Hastings, Frontenac, Ontario, and Lennox and Addington. The field day began with softball games in which 8 boys and 6 girls' teams competed. The Northumber-| Girls' High Jump--2nd land boys' team won the boys' softball competition trophy and the Peterboro girls' team won the Girls' Softball Farmers Quinte competition trophy. The Ontario County boys and girls won the Track and Field Champions' Trophy for scoring the most points in Track and Field events. The stand- ing for Ontario County in the Track and Field events were as follows: Boys' High Jump, 1st and 2nd Boys' Shot Put--2nd. Boys' 4 Mile Relay--1st all. Boys' Measuring Race--1st Boys' 100 Yard Dash--1st Girls' Softball Throw--1st Girls' Relay--1st Girls' 76 Yard Dash--8rd -- SORA ETI EL Yale aald RAR ARUN tA WS On tarlo County placed second with Hasting County placing first. It was a very successful day as indi- cated by the keen competition in all events and the fine spectator following each county had for their competitors.
