Once again it has been meeting-time for the ladies of Prospect W.A., and this time we gathered at the home of Mrs. Frank Vernon, who kindly and pleasantly received us. Jean led the devotional with the Motto, and then Sweet" was sung. Mr. Braham led in prayer. Kay read the Scripture taken from Revelations 21, verses 1-5. Mrs. Dearborn gave the Lesson Thoughts with a Spring-like theme, and afterwards led in a short prayer. Marion favoured us all with a very nice solo, ably accompanied by Roxie. We were very pleased to have Mrs. Braham with us. She had consented to talk to us about the Victor Home | for Girls in Toronto, and was able to give us some insight into activities and support there, 3 EY 2} oan RE Rl i Wr ve i Rh ti in edb Fe ci She also went to | considerable trouble to report on other United Church of Canada, telling us of various other institutions, main tained or partly maintained. by the! | United Church to assist with unmar- needing special ! | ried mothers, girls guidance, elderly citizens, homes for underprivileged children, and homes for emotionally disturbed children. "Margaret read from parts of a circular letter from the Hospital Auxiliary request- ing help with the fund-raising cam- |'ch paign now getting under way for the new X-ray unit for the Hospital, Mr. Braham talked to us about the new re-organization of the women's groups --W.A, & W.M.S. in the United Church which will be united in one group of endeavour called The United Church Women. Three ladies from Prospect, Mrs. Murray Holtby, Mrs. Clare Vernon and Mrs. Harold Holtby were named to the Provisional Com- mittee to attend meetings to study the work and aims of the organization which will be Dominion-wide in Jan- uary, 1962. The meeting closed with the Theme Song and prayer. A very good lunch was served by the Hostess and group in charge.
