Neil McLeod, Blackwater, R. 2, won the Mason & Whyte Trophy, as the top beef showman of the day, edging out Ross Bailey of Uxbridge, R. 4. Neil showed the second place Baby Beef Steer and was awarded the Har- dean Hereford Farm Special for ex- hibiting the highest place Hereford steer. 'Neil. One of the highlights of the com- petition is the showing of groups of three calves from one 4-H club. In the dairy section, the calves of Neil Raines, Keith Page, Uxbridge, R. 2, 2, of the. Sunderland 4-H Dairy Calf Club, won the competition for senior Holstein calves but lost by a narrow borough. In the beef-.gection, three steers from the Scott 4-H €alf -Club lost a very close decision to the group ham, These steers were shown by Neil McLeod, Ross Bailey and Ralph Clark. Calves were judged on a group basis. Jr. Farmers Annual Church Service The Annual Ontario County Junior Farmers' Church Service will be held in the United Church, Cannington, on Sunday, October 1st, at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Ken Heron, Minister of the Pickering Presbyterian Church, will be the guest speaker. The Ontario County Junior Farmers are in charge of the service and the Ontario County Jr. Farmer Choir, directed by Mrs. Elsie Dobson, Uxbridge, will provide spe- cial music. This Church Service has always been one of the highlights in the year's activities of the County Junior Farmers' Association.
