Taylor, March 22nd, on the occasion of her 84th pot luck lunch, complete with Birth- day cake, served-by Honeydale mem- bers. R---- Obituary- NORMAN FREDERICK PALMER A former resident of Port Perry, Mr. Norman Frederick Palmer, passed away at the home of Mrs. Alexander Martin, Sonya, where he resided. Death followed a "heart attack, Norman Palmer was the son of the late John and Sarah Palmer of Port Perry where he was born and attend- ed school. In March of 1916 he mar- ried Isabelle Clarkson. She prede- ceased him in Feb, 1983, Mr. Palmer was a member of War- riner Lodge, #75, 1.0.0.F., Port Perry and received his fifty year jewel in April of last year, - known as a hockey and a basketball player. In later years he became a plumber and tin smith and has work- ed for Carnegie Hardware, Parrish, Peel and later with Palmer Hardware. He is survived by sisters Mrs. Geo. Raines (Marietta) Port' Perry, Mrs. Thomas Stewart (Mabel) Epsom and brother Louis H. Palmer of: Peter- borough, The service was conducted by Rev. 'E.'S. Linstead at the McDermott- Panabaker Funeral Chapel on April 11th. Interment at Wick Cemetery. High senior contestant was Bruce R.R. 8, with 674 out of a possible 690 points. He was awarded a $10.00 scholarship by the Ontario County Soil and Crop Improvement Association toward a winter short course at the 0.A.C. Runner-up was Aubrey Carson, Clare- mont, David St. Pierre, Claremont, R.R. 1, high Junior for the second successive year, with Bob Burroughs and Ross Prentice of Uxbridge, tied for second. The trophy for the top high school | team was won for the seventh straight year by Uxbridge High School. Team members were Bruce Shillinglaw, Murray Prentice and David St. Pierre, with Bob Rattray and Ted Smith coaches. Port Perry. High School were runners-up. A team from the Brooklin Junior Farmers composed of Aubrey Carson, Jim Wilson and Ken Stickwood, edged out the Beaverton Farmer club trophy.
