Two more grass fires took the Port Perry Fire Brigade out on Wed- nesday---one in a field back from Rosa Street and one out at Bill Parker's farm. The pump in the fire truck gave out at this time, Repairs will be made as soon as possible with the hope that it will last until the new truck can be delivered. Anglican Notice The adult mission which had been tentatively planned for the last week in May will not be held, it was an- nounced by Rev. Mr. E. W. Fuller on Monday. In responce to the Rector's request at Sunday service, twelve members of the Church of the Ascension, as well as the Churchwardens, advised Mr. Fuller of their willingness to attend at least three of the four services. As Mr. Fuller felt that a minimum of thirty to forty persons willing to com- mit themselves definitely to the mis- sion is necessary, to justify asking Rev. "Women and Easter" was the theme for the topic. Faye Aldred then led in prayer. Everyone enjoyed the solo entitled, "What "Will You Do With Jesus?" by Murs, Marilyn Gibney of Mount Albert. Hymn 104, "Christ The Lord is Risen To-Day," brought to a close the devotional period of thoughts for Faster. Jean Hunter, with some words of welcome to 18 members and 2 vis- itors, opened the business. The roll call was answered with articles for the bale. The minutes were read and adopted and the Treasurer's report showed a balance of $286.71. ' It was reported that two cards were sent during the month, A letter regarding our adopted child was read. It was moved by Margaret Cou- perthwaite and seconded by Janet Mc Kain that $10.00 be forwarded to the bereavement fund of the church. The May roll call is to be answered with an article for children's school use, such as scribblers, pencils, ete. It was decided to hold four bake sales this summer with the first 5 groups baking for the first and third sales, and the last five groups baking for the second and fourth sales. The convenors of these groups will plan and assign what each group member be asked to bake. : It was moved and seconded that the afternoon group be assisted by the evening group in catering to the Hol- stein banquet in November 1962. A joint meeting of the two U.C.W. groups is planned for April 18, in the form of a Pot Luck Dinner, with the afternoon -ladies preparing the devo- tional, and the evening group planning a RE aaa SS DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME Be sure to put your oné hour Saturday night. Devotion was ably given by com- mittee in charge. Mrs. Jeffs contri- buted a deep "Easter Message" from which .we all grasped much. Mrs. A. Brown read a suitable ar- ticle pertaining to the theme. Vocal numbers were rendered by Mesdames Jeffs, Pugh and Snelgrove, accom- panied by Mrs. Hunter, pianist. Sumptuous lunch was served by Mesdames Hope, McKerihan, T. Hod-|. Lee, Ruth Stone, and Janet McKain was appointed to work on any cater- ing activity during the year. Jean Ward announced a leadership training course sponsored by the Ont. Fed, of Agriculture, is to be held on April 24, at Haugen's, Manchester, with lunch and two coffee breaks included in the $1.60 fee. } The mizpah benediction was then pronounced and lunch followed, Prince Albert Sunday School was opened by Supt. Mr. E. Martyn, followed by prayer by Mr. R. Butson. An Easter film was narrated by Beth Hunter. Birthday pins to Joe Johnson and Paul Brent. Church offering was taken by Robt. Forster and Denny Martyn. Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Alan Martyns included Mr. and Mrs, R. Haydon and children, Port Perry, Mr. and Mrs. T. Denny and family, Oshawa and Mr. Frank Summers of Toronto. Nancy, Marlyn and Robt. Hurst of Midland are enjoying few days with Mr. and Mrs. E.
