Rev. Donald B. Cram was the of- ficiating clergyman. Traditional wedding music was rendered by Miss Maryllis Ferguson of Don Mills who also accompanied the soloist Miss Margaret Cain in her renditions of "The Lord's Prayer", previous to the ceremony, and the "Shepherds Psalm" during the sign- ing of the register. The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Mr. Hugh S. McKee, was lovely in a floor length gown of pure silk organza over taffeta, with scoop neckline and lily point sleeves. The controlled front skirt enhanced by ap- pliqued lace medallions, A sunburst of pleats at the side and back falling into a chapel train. Her bouffdnt veil of pure silk illusion was held in place by a flowered headpiece of mother of pearl. She carried a cascade 'of white carnations and lily of the valley. Miss Anna Dietz, a friend of the bride, was her only attendant and wore a dress of shocking pink, chif- fon over taffeta, Ballet length full skirt with self belt, scooped neckline and three quarter length sleeves. Her headress was a shocking pink band of seed pearls with matching short veil and she carried a cascade, similar to the bride's of 'white carnations. Mr. Grant Ferguson, Toronto, bro- ther of the' groom was Best man, and the ushers were Mr. Jack McKee, i cousin of the bride, and Mr.--Glenn Larmer, friend of the groom. The reception was held in Knox Church Hall. To receive the bride's mother wore a figured blue arnel dress with jacket, white hat and ac- cessories and white carnation corsage. She was assisted by the groom's eld- est sister, Mrs. Lloyd Wright wear- ing a pale green linen dress with jacket, white accessories and white carnation corsage, . For~the wedding trip to Eastern Ontario the bride chose a navy silk dress" with jacket, silver gray silk coat, white hat, black patent shoes, tapestry bag and corsage of pink car- nations. The bride and groom will be living on his farm at R.R. 2, Nestleton, Prior td the wedding the couple were feted to a cup and saucer show- er by Miss Margo Knox and the bride was entertained by Mrs, Henderson when nurses and nurses aides of 1 Oshawa Hospital presented her with lovely gifts and Mrs. Noel Morton was "| hostess for a miscellaneous shower, The above were all Oshawa and vi cinity friends, Also given away were the ; Beautiful palms, ferns and white: Greenbank W.I Celebrates First 'Anniversary Filled with gay and cheerful voices and laughter was the home of Mrs. Rodd Foster, on May 14th, as twenty Greenbank ladies and six visitors ga- thered together for their monthly W.I. meeting. JI The activities were commenced by the new President Mrs, Norman Smith expressively reading a poem entitled "Ode to Life". The opening Ode wa% sung and Married TAYLOR - CORNFOOT On Saturday, April 6, 1963, Patri- cia Cornfoot, daughter of Mr. and Mys. Fred Cornfoot of Toronto, be- came the bride of Rohert Taylor, son of Mrs. Merrill Johnson and the late Robert Taylor of Scugog Island. The wedding took place in Bellefair United Church, Toronto with the Rev. Kerbey officiating. The charming bride entered the church on the-arm of her father and was becomingly attired in a floor length gown of Peau de Soie, The bod- ice featured a round neckline with lace insets adorned with seed pearls. The long sleeves ended in lily points. She carried a cascade of yellow roses. She was attended by Miss Linda Hyde, Toronto, as maid of honour and her bridesmaids were Miss Gayle Carew of Oshawa and Miss Carol Cro- zier, Scugog Island. The girls were gowned alike in ice blue street length dresses. The dresses of lace over taffeta were styled with scooped neck- line, fitted bodice and a bell-shaped skirt, They wore matching head- dresses and carried nosegay of pink and white mums, The dainty wee flower girl 'was Miss Brenda Louis, niece of the groom, dressed in blue peau de soie. Her dress was styled similar to the other attendants. She was assisted by Master Brian Cornfoot, youngest brother of the bride as ring bearer. He performed his duties dressed in a black tuxedo, The rings rested on a white satin cushion. The groom was assisted by Mr. Peter Atkin of Port Perry, as best man. The ushers were Russell Tay- lor, Claremont, brother of the groom, -and-Victor Cornfoot, brother of the bride. The groom and his party were dressed in black tuxedos. The reception was held at Margar- ets Crown Room, Toronto, where the bride's mother received her guests wearing silk dress, with three quarter length jacket. Her accessories were beige and she wore a corsage of pink carnations. She was assisted by the groom's mother wearing - a mauve flowered silk sheath dress with mat- ching hat. Her corsage of white carnations completed her .ensemble. For a short honeymoon the bride donned a pink linen suit with boxy style jacket and softly pleated skirt. Rodd, reported on "Our Fall Fair Work"; our Health convener, Mrs. M, Lee, on "Mental Health"; and our Agriculture and Canadian Industries, Mrs, W, Stone, on "The Need to Continue 4-H Work". 'The Motto, "Our To-days and Yes- 'the guest speaker, Mr. Keith David- terdays are the Blocks from which We Build", was expanded into a talk which was capably given by Murs. Rodd Foster. Included in her talk were such statements as:--' Heritage is a priceless treasure entrusted to our care", "Let us live and aim to achieve the best to-day for future generations". "Adelaide Hoodless, founder of W.I., set us a good ex- ample--"Looking ahead for Health, Welfare, and Happiness of Rural Folk", Our retiring President, Mrs. , Paul Diamond, was presented with a gift and corsage, accompanied by our grateful thanks for starting us on our way in our Institute, Mrs. Dia- mond brought with her a wealth of experience, as she is a life-long mem- ber of the Honeydala W.I. She thanked the ladies in her usual graci- ous manner and wished the new Pre- sident all success, « ¢ Mrs. Rodd Foster conducted a flower contest which challenged many of us to delve deeply into our memories for the names of garden and wild flowers, The Queen was sung to close this part of our meeting. Mrs. J. Couperthwaite introduced son, florist from Uxbridge, who gave us a very interesting demonstration on floral arrangements and ended up with dashing displays of coloured flowers. The beautiful sweet-heart roses, quickly and fascinatingly ar- ranged by Keith was presented to Mrs. E. Tait. To complete this enjoyable even- ing was a social hour.
