A Special Meeting of the' Council of the Twp. of Whitby was held in the Council Cham- * bers, Brooklin on Thursday, September 12th, 1963 at 9.30 p.m. with all members present. Messrs. Wilson, Ridgley and Banfield were present to dis- cuss basic terms of a Subdivi- sion Agreement with the Coun- cil relative to their proposed 11 lot plan of subdivision fronting on Hazelwood Drive. (File T- 13176 Revised). Since the Min- ister's terms and conditions for approval have not been issued as yet the final terms could not be settled at this time. © After a lengthy discussion of the progress to date etc. the following points "were agreed upon: (1, The Subdividers to con- struct a standard gravel road with ditches, from Manning Rd. to the northerly limit of the property to connect with the present Hazelwood Drive in plan M-35. The grades for the same to be prepared by the Subdividers' Engineer and ap- proved by the Township. (2) The Township to main- tain the entire road under agreement with the Subdividers. (3 Basic payment of $300, per lot to be made as specified under Sec. 87 (4) of the stand- ard for of Subdivision Agree- ment. oe (4) As part -of the Subdivi- sion Agreement the Subdividers will be required to deposit in escrew with the Canadian Im- perial Bank of Commerce at its branch in Brooklin, Ontario Canada Savings Bonds in the principal amount of $5,700. with any interest accruing on the said Bonds to be payable to the Sub- dividers. The foregoing secur- ity will be due after any five lots are sold and clearance on the 6th lot will not be given un- til the Bonds are provided as aforesaid. There will also be a Vegetable Show for Men. -- YX -- Obituary- RAYMOND VICTOR RAINES A former resident of 1004 East Maxlow, Hazel Park, Mi- chigan, for 36 years, Raymond Victor Raines, age 70, died un- expectedly September 17th at the home of his daughter Mar- garet, 1003 East Lincoln, Royal Oak, Mich. He leaves his wife, Ethel; a son, Harold of Olivet; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mar- garet) Agnello, 1003 East Lin- coln, Royal Oak; and Mrs. An- drew (Ruby) Homick of Koko- mo, Ind.; three brothers, Ar- thur Raines of Prince Albert, Ontario, Hubert Raines of Tor- onto, Ont, and Theodore Raines of Port Perry, Ont.; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Clara) Ray of Tor- onto and Miss Velma Raines of New York; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was born July 26, 1893 in Port Perry, Ont., and was mar-_ ried in December 1913 in Tor- onto, Mr. Raines was a Veteran of World" War I, having served with the Canadian Expedition ary Force, 234th Battalion. Prior to his retirement, he was a machinist at the Chevrolet Gear and Axle Plant, Detroit.
