After re-| turning from overseas with the rank of acting major, he ac-| cepted a position as a sales] manager for Hotel and Hospital Supply Co. Ltd., Toronto. Rev. Filkey received his B.A. from Victoria College. Toronto. He graduated. from Emmanuel Trenlogical College in the same: city. The original building located on the west shore of Lake Cou- comodate 300 children. One of the early aims of the institution has been the teach- ing and training of these hospi- talized children so far as their. physical imperfections and men- tal status would permit. The present Ontario Hospital School at Orillia stands on 800 acres of land, employs a staff 1000 men and women, and has an annual payroll of more than $4,000,000. The new building was named the Dr. Bernard T Me- Ghie Pavillion in honour of the Deputy - Minister of and Hospitals of the Ontario Department of Health, who held the position from 1935 until his death in January 1945. The Dr. Bernard T: McGhie Pavillion will stand as a mem- orial to a man who was far in of his times and who vice of his patients. It will be a fitting tribute to his outstand- ing service in the mental health field, and another landmark in the history of © Government's care for mentally retarded child- ren.
