#4 i ¥ = &» 3 " op | BS Aurora 'Tigers' Down P. Perry 'Flyers' 5 - 3 In Fast Game. Port Perry Flyers played one of their better games last Mon- day evening at the local arena. Although they did not win, they held the fast skating Au- rora "Tigers" to a 5-3 decision. Aurora who have not lost a game this season showed con- siderable speed and fine pass- ing and stick handling ability throughout the game. The "Flyers" "who have not been playing as long as Aurora were not as fast.as the visiting club but were checking hard in all! periods holding the Aurora crew to only five goals, three in the last period. Aurora are noted. of which were scored as a high scoring team and I believe were a little over con- fident that Port Perry would be a push over. The first period ended in a, 1 - 1 tie with Roger Pickard taking a pass from John Maec- Millan and beat Goodmaker in --the Aurora niet at 16.256. Four handed out in. penalties were the first stanza, both teams picking up two, Each team picked up a goal in the second period. while Thompson picked up the lone tally for when he combined with Maec- Millan and Bradley to tie the little score. Penalties were a easier to get this period, as re- feree John Sadowski while Port picked up three. Aurora started early in the third stanza when Pugh picked up a pass from Cotey and beat Stephens in the Port net at, 5.06. Jamieson made it 4 - 2 Aurora at 8.26 when he! for combined with Bray and Coop- er and hit the corner of the net from close in. : Don Gibson picked up Port's third tally for the nicest goal: of the evening. Don started from behind his own blue line l. Vander- ploey scoring for Aurora at 2.30 Port at 17.27, handed , out seven, Aurora getting four: land stick handled through the | amazed Aurora team and pulled i Goodmaker out of the net and | put the disc in behind him at | 12.38. Flanagan ended the scoring at 19.40 when he scored unassisted for Aurora. PORT PERRY -- Goal--Ste- | phens; D. Gibson; W. Powell; | Bob Lee; B. Oke; J. Beuchler; ! G. Ball; D, Irwine; J.
