Debbie, like thous- ands of other Canadian child ren, is gradually being par- alyzed by muscular dystrophy. Capt. Bonser, like thousands of other Canadian fire fighters, helps raise money for research on MD so a cure can be found. . Junior scheduled game, ! Both teams played well in the | first stanza with each club picking up one goal. Needler | from Townley at 6.16 for New- | market and 'Thompson from Powell at 18.567 for Port Perry. The penalty department was a little - more lively with each club picking up three apiece. for Port Perry, while Taporoski Haraman and Orton visited the sinbin for Newmarket. The Redmen came to life in the second stanza and outshot and outscored the Flyers 5 - 1, Orton, Gibbons, Needler and Bellamy with 2 were the marks- men for Newmarket while Ball picked up Port's Lone tally at 9.05. The Flyers settled down in] the third and kept the Redmen off the score sheet. -Port man- aged to pick up one at the 2.40 mark when Ball took a nice pass from Barry Oke to ring up his second tally of the night. Although holding the Redmen scoreless the Flyers were not able to overcome the 3 goal de- | ficit and came out on the wrong! end of a 6 - 3 count. "The Flyers are playing good hockey and should improve con- | siderably as the season goes on. A little more support from the hockey .fans of Port Perry would do wonders for the mor- ale of the team, so let's get out to their next home game and show them that the town is be- hind them.
