Friday night the Christmas meeting and children's party of the Women's Institute was held in the Community Hall, with 23 ladies and 14 children in attendance. Meeting opened : Mrs, with the singing of the Ode and the repeating in unison of the Collect. After the president extended welcome, the Secretary and Treasurer gave their reports. Secretary read a letter of ap- preciation for birthday gift to our adopted boy, Chan Hing; an invitation from Nestleton to attend a short course on Jan. 8th on 'Safety Begins at Home', Expressions of thanks for fruit received when ill were read. Achievement Day at Orono, Jan. 4th was announced, also the millinery course in Black- stock, Feb. 11 - 18. Decided to have next meeting Jan. 9th, Moved, seconded & carried that the $60.00 be sent for care of Chan Hing. Group leader Mrs. Lorne Thompson now presided and gave the Current Events. David Larmer played a piano solo.
