GREENBANK NEWS This is "Christian Youth Week" and next Sunday morn- ing the church service will be in charge of the Young People of the congregation. This group was organized several weeks ago and the following officers were elected: Pres,--Morley Davidson Vice--Muprray Empringham Sec'y--Linda Stone Treas.--Pat Hunter Pianist--Brian Harris Ass't--Jo-Anne Harris Another special feature of the service next Sunday morning the presentation of awards for regular attendance to members of the Young Wor- shippers' League. This group consists of children of school age and who cease to be mem- bers in January after entering High School. The annual congregational meeting was held on Monday evening, Jan. 20, with the min- ister, Rev. Harris presiding, The meeting was opened with Scripture reading and prayer, after which the minutes of last vear's meeting were adopted as read by the Sec'y, Mr. Armour McMillan. Very gratifying re- ports were presented from all the various organizations show- ing the financial situation to be in good shape. There were two major expenditures during the year, a new roof for the church and the purchase of a new Baldwin organ. Several items of business concerning the work of the church were dis- cussed and cleared away fol- lowed by the election of offi- cers for the current year, The two retiring elders were Nor- man Smith and Cecil Leask. Mr. Smith was re- elected for "another term and Albert Har- per was chosen to replace Mr. | Leask who wished to retire and was appointed an honourary member of the session. The re- tiring stewards Murray Lee, Neil Hunter, Gordon Blair and M. McCaig were all re-elected for three years. Our very faith- ful and efficient ushers, Neil Raines, Alec Leask, Larry Da- vidson, . Dean Smith, Ed. Me- Caig, Wm. McMillan and Ross Church Sec'y--A. McMillan' Treasurer--H, McMillan Env. Sec"y--Ernest Phair M. & M. Treas.--E. Lee A vote of appreciation was extended to our minister, his wife and family for their good work during the year after which the meeting was ad- journed. Mr. and Mrs. Howard McMil- lan spent Sunday at Orillia with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace McMillan and family. Pleased to report that John Phoenix came home 'last week from Uxbridge Hospital. Hope he continues to improve. Mrs. C. Lorimer of Downs- view was a visitor at church on Sunday morning. Latest 'report indicates that Mrs. Cooper of Uxbridge is re- covering nicely from her recent accident in which she fractured an ankle bone.
