FEB. 20th, 1964 GREENBANK NEWS The sermon Sunday morning on "Thy Kingdom Come" was another in a series based on the Lord's Prayer. In the absence of Mrs. Dob- son due to illness, Mrs. David Lee presided at the organ. On Saturday evening of this week the Greenbank young people will be entertained by Pinedale group. All the young folks of the congregation will be welcome to share in this so- cial evening. A large crowd of ladies at- tended the World Day of Pray- er service last Friday afternoon. Mrs. A. Harper was the leader and she was assisted by Mrs. Geo. Beare, Mrs. B. Thomson, Mrs. Reg. Foster, Mrs. Neil Hunter, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. F. Beare and Mrs, Don Real. An excellent talk on "Meditation on Prayer" was given by Mrs. M. McCaig. A lovely solo was| sung by Mrs. D. Lee, accom- panied by the pianist, Mrs. E. Phair. The offering was receiv- ed by Mrs. Harold Baylis and, dedicated by the leader, Another successful euchre party was held in the Nall last Friday evening. Thé high pri- zes were won by Mrs. F. Beare and Mr. Nelson Carnegie and the consolations went to Mrs. Stan Foster and Wayne Shier. The lone hand winner was Keith Phoenix. Mrs. Shier was asked to draw for the door prize and no doubt. feeling a bit sentimen- tal on Valentine day she drew hubby's name. Next party Feb, 28 with Mr. and Mrs. Stan Fos- ter and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Blair in charge. Another party, sponsored by the Hall fund-raising committee will be held in the Hall on Sat. evening of this week; Ladies are asked to provide lunch. Over one hundred attended the family skating party held at Sunderland rink last Satur- day evening. Everybody had a grand time and enjoyed the lunch which was served later in the basement of the Church. Mr. & Mrs. Geo. Beare spent the week-end in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Brock Pilkey and children accompanied by Mrs. Chas. Pilkey of Brooklin were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Foster on Sunday, Mrs. Pilkey also visited Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lee. -- Mrs. Robt. Leask spent last. at Bloomington: Sorry to hear of ' 5-6 week with her parents Mrs. Fockler's accident. Mr. and Mrs. Don Craig and boys of Weston, also Mr, and Mrs, Faul Baumann of Toronto were guests of Mrs. Alice Fhoe- nix and Miss Jean on Sunday. Mr. Fred Real returned home on Saturday from _ Toronto where he was receiving treat- ment for a heart condition. Best wishes for a speedy and com- plete recovery.
