We will look forward to meeting you next Sunday at 10 am. %* * * Sunday Allan Carter entertained with a roast beef dinner for a fam- ily gathering of 14 in honour of the latter's father Mr. Thos. Redman, who was celebrating his 88th birthday. Mr. Redman is enjoying quite good health and still takes a keen interest in the farm where he still lives. Mr. and Mrs. Redman live in the house built, by tke former's father, Will Redman, in 1896, This well- built house has since been slightly remodelled to accomo- date the 8rd and 4th genera- tion. At present the farm is run by the older son, Clifford, who likes to keep up with mo- dern methods. A short time ago the youriger son Allan, with his family moved to their new house located on this ~ same farm. It gives .the rest of us pleasure to realize these people are getting the rewards from a life of honest hard work. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Al- lan -Redman were pleased to have Mr. and Mrs. Boyko and son from Toronto and Mrs, Boy- ko's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson from Omemee with Mrs. Redman's niece, Linda Hickson. Mrs. Redman and Mrs. Boyko are friends who had not met for 20 years, -- \ re wy Mr .and Mrs. Angus Wilkin- son drove to Peterborough on ' Tuesday to offer condolence to the family of Mrs. Gordon Rea- der who passed away on Sun- day. Mr. and Mrs. D. FILER and sons enjoyed a birthday celebration for Timmy at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Crozier on Sunday. This correspondent wishes to thank her Mystery Sister for the lovely roses. A very happy event took place at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dawson at Victoria Corners with 1 family, relatives and setends on Sunday, February 16th, 1964. As a surprise to them their fa- mily decorated their home with yellow mums and daffodils and placed a three tiered wedding cake that was made by their eldest daughter Mrs. Blakely,: on the tea table. About forty guests enjoyed a turkey dinner. The bride of B50 years was called upon to cut the Tovely cake. Mr.. Ross Blakely acted as master of ceremonies and pro- posed a toast to the bride and groom of fifty years, - There were official congratu- lations and telegrams were re- ceived from the Prime Minister, Hon. Lester B. Pearson, Gov. Gen, and Madame Vanier, of Ottawa; a plaque from Hon. John Robarts, Prime Minister of Ontario; Dr. M. B. Dymond, 'Michael Starr and John Diefen- baker; also received many more messages and gifts. Their family escorted their mother and father to the living room where they were seatéd in two lovely easy chairs, a gift from 'the family. Mrs. Blakely read the address. They have 16 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren: Mr. Ross Blakely and Mr. Floyd Finch took movie pictures of the happy occasion. Mr. and Mrs, Dawson were wished many more happy anni- versaries together and contin- ued good health: The Port Perry and District Minor Softball Association held the first meeting of the .1964 season at the Arena on Sunday, Feb, 23.
