There is no cause for alarm. DO NOT call the police or fire department. If you see such a man, ten chances to one, it will be my friend--Percival .Thistle- wort. This story goes back quite a few years and as of recent years my friend Percival had indul- ged in such searches with de- creasing regularity, I had thought that Percival had got the matter out of his system. But apparently not, It comes about that two or three weeks back, my friend Percival happened to stumble and was helped to his feet by a visitor, who, in cpnversation, mentioned that he was from Ireland." Now, as Percival re- lates, this visitor didn't have to explain that he was from Ireland--he had a brogue that could be cut with a knife and was from the very depths of the more remote parts of the Green Isle. In conversation, my friend Percival happened to mention that the 17th of March was coming up and at this mention, Percival's new found Irish friend 'explained how regretful he was that he could not be at 'home -for- this period, so that 'he could renew his acquaintance with the local Leprechauns or 'Wee Folk', who, apparently, are more in evidence at this 'time, than at any other time of the year. Percival used to be quite an authority and believer in the 'Wee Folk' but as the years passed, Percival could find few people who would discuss the matter with-him, so his interest waned, so Percival's excitement at meeting this Irish gentleman can be well appreciated. It would appear that dis. vi- sitor was relating to Percival 'an incident that happened a few years back. At the time, a big English construction firm, using all Irish local labour, was constructing a runway on Shan- non airport. The landing strip proceeded normally, until the construction crew reached a point approximately half way across the airport. Then the work stopped and nothing, but nothing would persuade the Irish workers to proceed fur- ther. It would seem that one of the big bulldozers had unearthed a fairy fort, the home of the "Wee Folk' and as it isn't pos: sible to put a loop in a run- way, the work stopped and ac- cording to Percival's friend, to this day, there is a runway at Shannon that stops dead in the middle of the airport. Perci- val's friend says that he owns several dogs, who, at this time of the year, will not go out- side the house at night for love Percival's friend says that he has seen and talked to the Wee Folk, who are the most kindly little people, un- less aroused. Percival's renewal of interest is now at a high peak, so, as T mentioned before, if you see someone doing some intensive peering, it will be Percival looking for the Wee Folk, If you should see any of the Wee Folk, smile at them -and say "Hello" and send quickly for Percival, He really is most in: verested, Ash ciety Rally held in the Cam- "bridge St. United Church in "wonderful "church service and . Our District Secretary of the Bible Society, Rev. Colin Rudd of Peterborough, also assisted in the service. It was a united effort in every way, and proves. 'that the various denominations can and do cooperate to further the work 'of Christianity. Perhaps this Rally will be an inspiration to local churches to instigate a service of this kind to aid in premoting the wonder- ful work: of the Bible. Society..
