Mrs. Hastings, who is the music teacher at the school is retiring next year. --Staff Photo GREENBANK NEWS The subject of the sermon on Sunday morning was "Financ- ing the Church" and the min- ister pointed out the right and wrong methods of doing this which should be very helpful, Next Sunday is "Rural Life Sunday." Several Greenbank ladies attended the Spring Bonnet Tea and Bazaar held at Sea-| grave on Saturdy afternoon. Mrs, C. Ward is spending a few days with her daughter and husband, Mr, and Mrs. Wallace Parr and is also attending the golden wedding of her brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. Chas, Stephen. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dusty and children spent Sunday at Valentia with Mr, and Mrs, Bob Snoddon. Congratualtions to Mr. and Mrs. Snoddon on the arrival of their chosen daughter, Sharon Marie. Mr. H. Phoenix made a busi- ness trip to Montreal during the week-end. Mrs. Mavis Beare and child- ren of Buffalo accompanied by Mrs, Elsie Beare of Port Perry were visitors at Church Sunday morning, Mrs. E. Tait is off duty for a few days with a case of measles. Anyone wishing to . donate good, used clothing to the U.C. W. bale please leave it at the home of Mrs. R, Dusty by May 6th. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Craig of Toronto spent Sunday with Mrs. Alice Phoenix and Jean. The final dance of the season was held in the Hall on Satur- day evening, During the passed week the following ladies did the annual canvas for funds for the Can- adian Cancer Society: Mrs. S. As this is the end of the Auxiliary year, a past Presi- dent, Mrs. George Lane, pre- sented Ruby with her "Gold Pin" in appreciation of her year's work. Ruby in return expressed her thanks to the Auxiliary. The new president Mrs. Jean McDermott outlined a few plans for the coming year, all lead- ing to the same project, new camp equipment for Scouts & Cubs, to replace all that was lost to vandalism last year at the old camp site. The first affair will be an "Amway" demonstration at the Scout Hall, Monday, May 11th at 8.30 p.m. Coffee and cookies will be served. Everyone wel- come. Following the service, all groups formed up behind the band for the return march to the Arena area, at which point they were dismissed.
