Eighteen members & four visitors were in attendance. Mrs. Holtby read the call to Worship and the hymn "Jesus shall reign where'ere the sun" was sung, followed by Scripture reading by Mrs. J. Dobson. Rev. Mr. Gilbert led in Prayer. Mrs. Aletha Holtby chaired the business session. The roll call at the next meeting--June, will be answered with the dona- tion of an article for the ba- zaar which will be held Sept. 23rd. An invitation from Greenbank was read inviting us to an open meeting in their auditorium on May 27th at 8.15 p.m. The Secretary also read an invita- tion to the annual church ba- zaar at Prospect on May 20th, A discussion arose re the ceil- ing of the Church but no deci- sion was arrived at. Mrs. Meta Holtby reported 8 doz. dessert plates received from collection of "Swift's Canadian" labels. Mrs. Gilbertt gave a very en- tertaining and informative talk on Northern Ontario and their work in the Mission field while stationed near Kapuskasing. Mrs. Lorne Thompson thanked Mrs. Gilbert for her kindness in taking us on an enjoyable trip. The hostess with Mrs. J. Dob- son assisting served a dainty lunch. Rev. Mr. Gilbert brought a most appealing message for Fa- mily Day Service. The junior choir under Mrs. Steer's super- vision with Miss Susan Roach at the piano, sang very sweetly. The new president Mrs. Percy Van Camp presided, and in the ab- sence of the Secretary Mrs. Vel- va Bailey acted. Meeting opened with the Ode and Mrs. K. Samells read the Creed. After a few remarks by the president the business was dealt with during which some plans were made for the Bazaar on May 15th evening. W.I. accepted an invitation from the High School to serve lunch in the evening of May 22, their museum day. Roll was answered by my favourite flower. The Motto -- Praise Loudly -- Blame Softly" was ably dealt with by Mrs. Russel ARREEEENENE RANE EER RE ACADEMY, AWARD Mountjoy. Current events was given by Mrs. Ray Bradburn. At this time the Grandmothers who had found and worn old fashioned clothes, paraded around the hall. Then those who had no old fa- shioned clothes were asked to sing "Put on your old Gray Bonnet". Mrs. J. A. Johnston recited "The Inventor's Wife". Mrs. W. Archer read--'"What Girls want in Grandmothers", "Yesterday and Today" and an account of an Institute meeting in 1947, Meetig closed with the Queen, Lunch was served by the group and a social time enjoyed. Attendance 17. The United Church was really filled to capacity for the Moth- ers Day Service at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The choir sang an anthem "You Taught Me How to Pray". Rev.
