Holman BROOKLIN -- The girls of the C.G.I.T. and Explorers of Brooklin United Church held their Mother and Daughter Banquet in the Christian Ed- ucation Building of the Church on Monday, May 4. The Toast to the Queen was given by Nancy Gerrard, pres- ident of the C.G.I.T. Gail Agar gave the toast to the Church and the Mothers were toasted by Lynda Hodson. Anne Bartlett, Carol Hawk- sey, Gail Agar, Judith Wood- ward and Lynda Ormiston Bray all of whom were graduating from C.G.I.T. Bible. During the graduation cere- mony an impressive candle- light service was held: in which four women represent- atives from the, United Church Women, Mrs. N. Alves, Mrs. G. Mundy, Mrs. R. Hodson, Mrs. D. Roberts, each passed a lighted candle to a member of the C.G.I.T. and then spoke on a part of the C.G.I.T. purpose. Rev. G. A. Mundy addressed the girls and their Mothers. A special choir, formed from members of the C.G.I.T. and Explorers sang "Follow The Gleam" and closed the gradu- ation ceremony' with the C.G. IT. hymn. During the evening Joyce Dennis, leader of the Explorers, and Mrs. Lloyd Stephenson, leader of the Senior C.G.I.T., were honoured. Miss Dennis was presented with a gift from the Explorers by Maryanne Milner. She is leaving to be married June 6. Mrs. Stephenson, who is re- tiring from C.G.I.T. leadership, was presented a gift on behalf of the Senior C.G.I.T. by Jud- ith Woodward. J BROOKLIN Congratul- ations are extended to the pup- ils, staff and principals of the Brooklin Senior School and Meadowcrest School for their fine showing at the Eighth An- nual, Ontario County and Dis- trict Music Festival, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ajax. A special thank-you to Mrs. C. Colby, music supervisor! Parents and friends will have an extra opportunity to hear this fine choral music at the next regular meeting of the Brooklin Home and School As- sociation, May 19, at 8:15 p.m, in Meadowcrest School.
