Lin- stead officiated at the double ring ceremony. The wedding 'music was played by Miss Gloria Hastings, of Port Perry. She also accompanied the soloist Mr. Kenneth Hallett, of Sonya, |. who sang "The Lord's Prayer'? before the ceremony and "To . Thee Beloved" during the sign- ing of the register. _ The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of cathedral white satin peau de soie, which was made and designed by her mother. The princess - styled bodice was fashioned with a circlet neckline and long lily- pointed sleeves and the fouffant skirt fell in soft pleats at the back forming a short chapel train. - A soft chiffon pearl en- crusted French rose held the three - quarter length circular silk illusion veil, She carried a cascade bouquet of Pink Delight Rosebuds, white pom-poms and variegated ivy, and a handker- chief given to her by her ma- ternal grandmother. The bridegroom's mother was styled gown with matching three-quarter length coat, navy straw hat and accessories. Miss Pamela Perry, another bridal attendant ,entertained at the home of her mother, Mrs. Harry Perry, 46 Rossland Road, Oshawa, at another miscellane- ous shower. She was assisted by co-hostess Miss Dianne Mrs. William Slater, of Osh- awa, entertained at the home of her mother Mrs, Herman Mid- gley, Port Perry at a personal shower for the bride-to-be, Mrs. Russell Leach, of Manchester assisted as co-hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Morley Bruce, of Seagrave, entertained in hon- our of the bridal couple. Twen- ty-five guests attended and pre- sented the happy couple with a chest of Stainless Steel Flat- ware. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ander- son of Oshawa entertained for the bridal party, at their sum- mer cottage at Portview, follow- ing the wedding rehearsal. Mrs. Leonard W. Beadle with the assistance of her daughter Sandra, entertained at an after- moon and evening reception, for her daughter, Mrs, Donald Clarence Anderson. Port Perry UCW The U.C.W. held their month- ly meeting on May 12th, with 39 members present. The theme of the Devotional was "Family Life" which was ably prepared by Mrs. Buchner and taken by Unit 8, with Mrs. Cawker, Mrs. Wakeford and Mrs. Honey assisting. An interesting letter from Miss Timbers, a missionary from Mexico and a sister of the late Mrs, Thompson, was read. An invitation from the Green- bank U.C.W. was extended to our ladies to attend a social evening in Greenbank on May 27th, at 8 o'clock. We are also invited to at- tend a Dessert Luncheon to be held by the Blackstock U.C.W, on June 3rd with Betty Kennedy as guest speaker, A letter was read from Quin- No-Lac Bay of Quinte confer- ence camp corporation asking for our prayers and a donation to carry on their work. Mrs. McDermott on behalf of the Manse committee, reported the purchase of a chesterfield, chair and electric stove for the Manse. The Port Perry U.C.W. has been asked to give the Devotion al at the semi-annual meeting of the Oshawa Presbyterial in October. © Our President, Mrs, Dowson, informed us that 6% of the world's population lives in Can- ada and that 50% of the world's income comes to Canada. Mrs. Hardy conveyed her ap- preciation, of the splendid co- operation of the ladies with re- gard to the Hospital tea held May 9th. The next meeting will take the form of a pot luck supper on June 9th when Dr. Morley Honey will show pictures taken by him while in India, All are invited to attend this meeting.
