The Central Public School au- ditorium was packed on Thurs- day night when the pupils pre- sented an excellent entertain. ment of many of the musical numbers they had learned un- der the direction of Mrs. Carol Wannacott, assisted by the teachers. There were several choruses in one, 'two or three parts. A triple trio, dances, rhythm band numbers, ete, A good number of the songs were unaccompanied, others were ac- companied at the piano by Mrs. Wannacott, Mrs. Skuce, Linda Mountjoy or Judy Mountjoy. On behalf of the Nestleton Women's Institute, Mrs. Arthur Hyland, President presented a gift to Betty Lou Stinson, gr. 7 and Gail Bonnetta, gr. 8 for most improvement in writing. On Friday night in the Re- creation Centre, under the spon- sorship of the Women's Insti- tute a fashion show and bazaar was held. Mrs. H. E. Ashmore gave a fine address of welcome, after which the High School girls of the Home Economics class mo- delled the costumes they had made. Miss Janice Byers was commentator and Miss Cather- ine Bailey pianist. Following this very fine demonstration of lovely dresses, suits and sports' wear, Nancy Dorrell rendered a piano solo and Judy and Linda Mountjoy a piano duet. Now the Beattles arrived and put on a presentation after which the president Mrs. Percy Van Camp expressed the thanks to all who had given such a fine enter- tainment and declared the sale opened, After most everything had been purchased, all lined up and helped themselves to a lovely lunch which was placed on a large table. Pouring tea and. coffee were Mrs. W. W. Van Camp and Mrs. C. Hill Winners of the draw were--1st prize a linen embroidered lun- cheon cloth and serviettes won by Bill Pargeter, Port Perry; 2nd prize an Institute cup and saucer was won by Mrs, P. Van Camp and the third prize, a picnic thermos went to Mrs. Charles Wilson. There was a good attendance an enjoyable evening and the Institute ladies considered it quite successful. At the services in the United Church Sunday morning the Messengers and Explorers occu- pied front seats.
