TENDERS received for the garbage collection were as fol- lows: 1. Mr. Glen Hood at $2.25 per cottage. 2. Mr. Len Hance at $2.50 per cottage. MOTION--that the tender of Glen Hood be accepted for the garbage pick-up at $2.25 per cottage for the season, Carried. MOTION -- that the rate of pay for casual labour in the township be increased from $1. to $1.26 per hr. Carried. MOTION -- that the Council of the Twp. of Scugog condur in the resolution as passed by the Town of Newmarket re the use of School facilities, Carried. MOTION -- that we should look into the possibility of changing our by-law prohibit- ing the building of commercial buildings unless they are a rea- sonable distance from resident areas. (Re By-law No. 1175.) Carried. MOTION -- that a special meeting be held on May 7th at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Town Hall, Carried. MOTION -- that the Bldg. Insp. be instructed to return the permit fees and rescind the per- mits re lots 2 & 3, Plan 790-- W. Hlozan. A vote on this motion result- ed in a negative vote--2 ayes and 2 nayes. MOTION--that the township purchase signs to prohibit the improper dumping of garbage at the dump, also a notice be put in the paper. Penalty of $560.00 for violation. Carired. PAYLIST--It was moved by C. B. Hoult and seconded by E.
