Mrs. G. Stone, leader of the North Group, was in the chair Mrs. Chas. Short took as a Scripture lesson, part of the 1st Chapter of Ruth, and Ephesians '6:1-4. Mrs, J. Hal- lett led in prayer. Messrs. Abraham and Tobin sang a duet based on the theme of Mother. Mrs. A. Nicholls was then in- troducel by Mrs, Stone, and prefaced her talk by reading the familiar old poem, Which is loved by everyone, "Somebody's Mother". She spoke of moth- ers of to-day, and mothers of the Bible, stressing the great importance of a mother's infu- ence on the world. A very fine message. Mrs. L. Nicholls fol- lowed with a poem "Grand- mother's Quilt. Mrs, O. J. Boe read Mrs. L. Dickson's letter. Mrs. Stone thanked all those who had assisted with the de- votions and all joined in Hymn 388 "O Master let me Walk--'?, Mrs, Cliff Short then took the chair and opened with a poem and expressed her thanks for the fine worship service. Minutes of last meeting were followed by the Roll Call, and five ladies contributed to thel birthday box. The Corresond- ing Sec'y read seven letters, among them invitations to an evening at Greenbank, a lunch- eon at Pinedale and an after- noon at Prospect. A letter from Mrs. Dickson of Rormosa ask- ing if we would sponsor a dif- ferent kindergarten-teacher-in- training, since the teacher Miss Go Gioh Hoa is no longer teach- ing. The W.M.S. and later the U.C.W. have supported her for about ten years Mrs. R. Abra- SEAGRAVE NEWS ham reported for the Box Com- mittee, & read thank you notes from Miss Una Sleep and Mr. R. Nodwell. The treasurer reported a good balance. Mrs. Fishley said sup- plies were ready to go to Tor- onto, one layette was complete, Visiting committee had just made one call. Mrs. L. Nicholls, on behalf of the Hospital Committee, thank- ed for the baking sent to the bake sale and Tea sent to the Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Keen said the platform carpet was being arranged for. Mrs, M. Bruce thanked every- one who had helped with Spring Bonnet Tea and said proceeds was $219.66. The three ladies appointed to count supplies had completed their task and a re- port was handed to Secretary. Mrs. G. Stone to be responsible for loaning chairs, ete.
