A beautiful basket of flowers from the funeral of Mrs. Mac Robertson was placed in the church in memory of the late Mrs. A. Robertson who passed away a year ago. A prompt get-well to Miss F. Holman who is a patient in hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gibson opened their home Saturday evening, May 16 in honour of her mother, Mrs..L. Sarjantson upon her 80th birthday. Mrs. Rose Somerville has re- turned from spending a few days with relatives, the Collins, Scugog Island. Pleasant to see Mrs. L. Smith has returned to her home from wintering in Niagara. Obituaries GORDON WHITFIELD BROWN The death of Gordon Whit- field Brown occured Monday, May 18th, 1964 at his home in Cadmus. Although not in good health for some time his last illness was short. Mr. Brown was born at Cad- mus ,the elder son of Russel and Annie (Whitfield) Brown, and spent his life there. His education was obtained in Cadmus Public and Blackstock High School. By profession he was a motor mechanic and worked in General Motors, Osh- awa, Mr. Brown was in his 51st year and was a member of Cartwright Anglican Church. He is survived by his par- ents. One brother Pledeccatied him. WM. STEELE Death claimed a former Cedar Creek resident on Wednesday afternoon, May 20, when Mrs. Wm. J. Steele passed away sud- denly at her Raglan home. The late Mrs, Steele was the former Josie Leona White, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George White. Her mo- ther was the former Rebecca Gilroy. They farmed on the Ridges where Mr. and Mrs. Gor- don Jones reside and Josie at- tended Cedar Creek School and Prospect Sunday School and Church. The deceased was born on July 28th, 1896 and married Wm, John Steele in 1937. They resided on the Steele farm until 1955 when they sold it to Wm. Popowich and retired to Raglan. Mr. Steele died in 1959. Mrs. Steele is survived by one brother Elgin White of Port Perry and one sister, Lila, Mrs. Gordon Corner of Columbus. Funeral services were con- ducted on Saturday afternoon at the McDermott - Panabaker Funeral Chapel by the Rev. R. H. Love, minister of Raglan United Church. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.
