The well planned bridal party comprised of near eigh- teen close relatives and friends who also enjoyed admiring the useful and pretty gifts. The sur- prised bride expressed her thank-you very appreciatively. The hostess served a delicious lunch while the well-wishers chatted and each voiced their happy evening. The bride is employed on the teaching staff of Port Perry High School. Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. Roy Hope included Mr. and Mrs. K. Cryderman of Solina; Mr. and Mrs. L. Stain- ton of Enniskillen and Mr. and Mrs. C. Mills of Maple Grove. Mr. and Mrs. N. Wilson -ac- companied Mr. and Mrs. C. Mil- ler, Raglan when all attended the funeral of an aunt, Miss L. Miller, Orillia. We extend a welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dearborn, the new bride and groom who are residing in our village hav- ing purchased the formerly new Jeff house. Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Hope visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brown, Newcastle. The following ladies attended and enjoyed the entertaining evening in Greenbank Church, Mesdames H. Hodgins; E. Mar- tyn; B. Smith; C. Mr. Hugh Baird then took charge of the programme which included solos, readings, duets and instrumentals from the various visiting organizations. Mrs. Harry Phoenix, leader of our afternoon Unit ,thanked all who had taken part and for the wonderful attendance and :in- terest taken in the U.C.W. work, Mrs. Harris closed the meet- ing with prayer after which Mrs. Ward invited all to adjourn to basement for a social half hour. "Bill Wanamaker a 10-2 win- ner in 1963, got off on the right foot in Seagrave's home opener, winning 11 to 8. Bill not only pitched his first win of the sea- son, he also helped his owp cause with a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate. Don Harper with 3 hits and Jim Nightingale with two were the guns in the Angels lineup." The Cherubs got off on the wrong foot, while Port Perry Lions Club Bantams look like they were well on their way to their third victory of the season. Rick Beare and Howie Chapman were the big hitters for Port, while Baxter slammed out a home run, this gave the Lions an early lead. Then the halos put back to back innings in the 8rd and 4th for seven runs, and from then on were never headed, Seagrave's next home game is on June 4th, a Thursday night at the Com- munity Park.
