The production staged by members of 4-1 Another Club of Uxbridge United 'Church was sponsored by the Maybelle Re- bekah Lodge and it was a suc- cess artistically as well as fi- nancially. This is the third consecutive year the performance has been shown in Port Perry and it is quite, possible that this also will be the last of these events. 1 THURSDAY, JUNE 11th, 1964 "Spring Breeze"| Blood Donors The need for supplies of blood has never been greater than it is now and Uxbridge Branch Red Cross has set its sights on an objective of 250 contributions at its June 18th clinic. The Blood Donor Clinic will be held in the basement of Trinity United Church between the hours of 2.30 - 5.00 p.m. = 6.30 - 9.00 p.m. on June 18th. Unforseen difficulties at birtk, sickness and the increasing ac- cident rate have all placed heavy demands on blood banks. Presently healthy citizens have some obligation to see that sup- plies are ready when required. Procuring, processing and "Tony Worthy", a race horse owned by Ivan Cochrane of Nestleton, is pictured. crossing under the wire in the winners position in the first heat of the 400 Classified race held at the Brooklin Spring Fair last Saturday afternoon. We are | pleased to have the Guides and | Brownies participate at this event. The Scouts, Cubs, Guides & Brownies were drum- med for the Parade from the Township Hall to the Church by Guide Susan Roach, drummer Lawn Furniture, Ladders Stolen Home owners in Port Perry should watch their lawn furni- ture and bring it in at night, is the suggestion of police chief Cameron. Early Sunday morning a lawn chair and barbeque were stolen from the lawn of a home on Lilla Street. A 16 ft. extension ladder and a 7 ft. step ladder were also stolen some time over the week end from a drive way on Queen Street. from the Port Perry High School Band. Mrs. Ruby Roach, Division Commissioner for Scugog Area and Mrs. Rena Webster, District Commissioner of Port Perry, were in attendance, we appreci- ate your coming to this Service for we realize you both are very | busy. Mrs. Webster read the Scrip- ture taken from Ephesians Chapter VI verses 1 to 11. Mr. Gilbert had a story for the Boys and Girls on being "Trustworthy". If a promise is given by a person, that person should do his or her best to keep it. The Sermon was based on the Scout Laws, Promise and Motto. Parents of the Boys enjoy this Service and want to say "Thank You" to all who take part and make it a success. Cancer Canvass Successful Here During the month of April residents of Port Perry, Reach, Scugog and Cartwright were asked to contribute funds to support the work of the Cana- dian Cancer Society. Some 75 volunteers have worked hard to meet the quota of $2,000.00, en- deavouring to canvass every home in the above mentioned area. The funds are all in now, and we are very pleased to an- nounce we have exceeded the quota by a substantial margin. We can all take pride in this year's attainment.
