Holman BROOKLIN -- A number of babies were enrolled in the Cra- dle Roll department of the Sun- day School during the regular 11.00 a.m. service of worship at Meadowcrest Baptist Church on Sunday June 14. The topic of Pastor Laird's sermon at 11.00 a.m. was "A Christian Family"; at the 7.00 p.m. service it was "Life's most Dangerous Tool". A Drive-In Church will be held outdoors at Meadowerest Baptist Church each Sunday evening, beginning July 5th at 7.00 p.m. until August 30. The entire service will be held out- doors and you will be privileged to sit on the lawns or remain in your cars. Mundy at Brooklin United Church, Sunday, June 14 at 11 a.m, The senior choir, led by Dir- ector of music, Rowland Me- Cord, sang the anthem "Hear Thou My Prayer, O Lord"--XK. Bissell. - Sunday, June 21st, was Anni- versary Sunday at Brooklin United Church. This was the 119th verifiable anniversary of the congregation, and the 97th of the present Church building. Rev. William H. H. Stewart, B.A., B.D., of St. John's United Church, Stratford was the guest speaker. Rev. Stewart is a native of Ireland and was for- merly a minister in the Presby- terian Church in Ireland. | The closing meeting, for this season took the form of a base- ball game and weiner roast for the members of the United Links Couples Club, at Glen- stream Farm, the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Hamer. A good evening of fellowship was enjoyed by all. * * * The Annual Decoration Day Service, sponsored by the Bee- thoven Lodge, 1.0.0.F., Brooklin was held June 14 at Groveside Cemetery. The Scripture reading was given by Chaplain, Bro. Heber Down and a duet was sung by Bro. Stanley Webber and Miss Caroline Webber. The address was given by Rev. G. A. Mundy. Mr. Mundy entitled his address, "So Great a Cloud of Witnesses." Dr. J. H. McKinney read the names of departed Brothers and Sisters who were buried in Groveside and other cemeteries. Dennis of the Reliable Unit, led the worship with the theme, "Every time I hear the Spirit". The Lend-a-hand Unit pre- sented an interesting program on the "New Curriculum". Mrs. J. Patterson gave a short in- troduction and showed a film strip entitled "The New Curri- culum?", Following the film strip Mrs. G. Mundy gave an explanation of the aims and purposes of the New Curriculum.
