Several years ago Dr. Gingras headed _ a mercy team of doctors when the Canadian Government was asked to help 10,000 men, wo- men and children who had been poisoned and paralyzed in Mor- occo after using motor oil for cooking oil. Since the TB Association is sponsoring the Ontario County Rehabilitation Council, a speak- er on rehabilitation was timely. The fiery French-Canadian doc- tor lighted a verbal fire under the 200 members and guests . . and he didn't mention the in- cendiary bi-cultural issue once. In a slashing 40 minut speech, Dr. Gingras stated that Canada's welfare boards should contribute "at least $2,000,000" to "basic, fundamental research in rehabilitation". Later he said it was a rare opportunity to be able to ad- dress a group such as gathered at the meeting and stated it is amazing that after some twenty years of hard and fruitful work rehabilitation is so little known by the average Canadian, Greetings were brought to the association by Alderman Hayward Murdoch, represent- ing the Mayor of Oshawa; the Hon. Dr. Matthew B. Dymond, provincial health minister; Dr. C. A. Wicks, medical superin- tendent, Toronto Hospital, Weston; Dr. E. P. Snider, as- sistant director, Gage Institute Chest Clinic and Mr. E.
