During the year the Lodge was bereaved of two beloved members and the Charter was draped in loving memory of Sister Mabel Griffiths and Sis« ter Alice Asher, The members have worked un- tiringly toward the completion of the new Oddfellow Hall and are pleased to realize they have accomplished and completed so many objectives. It is inter- esting to note that the mem- bers purchased carpetting, and upholstered leather chairs for the main Oddfellow Lodge Room, as well as seventy-five stacking chairs for the Banquet Hall. Donations have been re- ceived and grateful acknow- ledgement goes to Sister Mae Bunker and Sister Mabel Dis- ney. of Oshawa for cheques re- ceived; Sister Dora Dowson and Brother Merlin Dowson for the gift of an electric stove; Sister Rose Philip who supplied gravel for the parking area; Sister Jeanne Goode and hér husband for an electric clock and to the sisters who have donated so many miscellaneous articles. The Rebekah's main project is to be the completion of a modern kitchen and with the outstanding assistance of Bro- ther John Moore, who volun- teered to supervise and do the carpentry work, this is begin- ning to become a reality. Bro- thers Ronald Wanamaker, Ter- ry Hodgins, Rae Webster, Al- bert Harper and Stanley Foster have assisted Brother Moore with this work. Arrangements are being made to hold Euchre parties at the Hall every other week during the summer months to raise funds toward the purchasing of materials for this project. Great credit is due the Noble Grand and her staff of officers for the capable manner in which Maybelle Lodge has successful- ly . accomplished so many achievements toward the build- ing and completion of the new Oddfellow Hall. Those representing Maybelle at Grand Lodge sessions were Sister Velma Foster, Sister Lillian Harper and Sister Grace Love, D.D.P. After the closing of Lodge some thirty-five members jour- neyed to Manchester and en- joyed a social half hour and chicken dinner at Haugen's Barbecue. Brignall of Port Perry, died at the Toronto General Hospital, Monday, June 29, after a prolonged illness. She was in her 57th year. The daughter of Mrs. Martha Hayden and the late John Hay- den, she was born in Wiltshire, England, in 1906. She came to Canada in 1912, and has lived in Port Perry ever since. She married Charles Brignall here. She was a member of the Port | Perry Anglican Church, a char- ter member of the Eastern Star Lodge, and a member of the Ladies' Legion Auxiliary of Port Perry. Mrs. Brignall is survived by her husband, Charles; her mo- ther, Mrs. Hayden; one son, Charles, Jr., in Port Perry; two brothers, Rody and Victor Hay- den, of Port Perry, and three grandchildren, Julie, Xarey- Ann, and Paul Brignall of Port Perry. She rested at the McDermott- Fanabaker Funeral Home, Port Perry. The funeral service was held in the chapel Thursday, July 2, at 2 p.m. Rev.
