The Planning Board recommend that this lot be re- tained until a proposed plan is received for the development of lots 229, 230 & 231 Paxton St. and owned by Mr. Douglas Rice. The Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Clarence Graham that the local Planning Board has recommended to (Council that Lot 10 Balsam St. be re- tained until a proposed Plan is received for the development of Lots 229, 230 and 231 Paxton Street. PRICE on Floor at New Fire Hall by James Duncan $700.00. This matter was left with Councillor Bruce Beare, Chair- man of the Fire Department. BY-LAW No. 1397--To Stop Up and Close part of a Highway in the Village of Port Perry (Elgin Street). By-law #1397 to Stop Up and Close Part of Elgin Street in the Village of Port Perry was moved by John Orde, sec- onded by R. A. Kenny, read three times, passed, signed, and the Seal of the Corporation af- fixed thereto. THE SALE of that portion of Elgin Street west of Ella St.-- - An offer to Purchase was drawn up between the Corporation of the Village of Port Perry and Misses L. Morwenna Harris and Eunice Winnifred Harris for that portion of Elgin Street west of Ella St. at a price of $1,000.; a cheque in the amount of $100. as a deposit and the balance to be paid when the Deed from the 'Corporation has been completed. It is understood that if the Offer of Misses L. M. and E. W. Harris is accepted that a direction will be given to make the Deed to 'Mr. A. Panabaker. HOWARD HALL| and TED GRIFFEN of the Port Perry Chamber of Commerce met with Council for a short time to make certain recommen- dations for .the betterment of Port Perry: (1) Mr. Howard Hall, acting as spokesman requested that the street be marked off, par- ticularly the eross-walks and the corners. . --QCouncil decided that the cross-walks at - "Stop" streets on Perry, John and Water to be painted. (2) It was felt that some ac- tion should be taken {o have the old cars on the properties of Gord. Lewis and Douglas Rice removed. In this matter Coun- cil reported that action is al- ready being taken to have the owners clean up their proper- ties. (3) The Chamber members stated that it had been proposed to try and have a blood clinic in Port Perry and it was reported that this matter has been pur- sued by the Chamber of Com- merce but without success. (4) Another matter was brought to the attention of Council with regard to the Bus Stop which was pulled out. Council informed the repre- sentatives that the Bus Stop will be put back, at least for the time being. - MR. ROBERT ROY would like a street light on Simcoe St. in front of Jack Reid's or Ken Jackson's. It was left for the Street Committee to investigate this request, FINES for May--$727.00 Municipal Share $349.26. LETTER from Mrs. Connie D. Glass, Secretary of the Sr. Citizens' Club dated June 15th. Re the renewing of the lease on the building occupied by the said Club. "To have and to hold the said demised premises for and dur- ing the term of Two Years, to be computed from the first day of June, 1963." The Clerk was instructed to advise the Secretary of the Sr. Citizens Club that the lease does not expire until June 1/65. REPORTS By Chairmen of Committees-- : Councillor R. A. Kenny re- ported that there should be two Hydrants on Balsam Street in the Graham Subdivision. The Clerk was instructed to order an extra 6" hydrant, and also to make application for the installation of a 6" main on Balsam Street re Graham Sub- division. PAINTING of New Fire Hall.
